Yes, you can definitely join indian army after passing class 12 from commerce stream. i too, just gave final exams for 12th. You could even apply for NDA, if you had filled the form earlier. The syllabus contains only till the level of class 10th for commerce stream, if you skipped maths in 11th class. You just whole heartedly prepare for your exams. NDA Stands for National Defence Academy Examination and this examination this conducted by Union Public Service Commission twice in a year as namely NDA I and NDA II .

NDA (II) Notification was already published and online registration was already started on 05/05/12 , Last date for receipt of application :- 04/06/12 and the examination will be held on 19/08/12 .

NDA Exam is conducted for admission to

Army wings ,
Navy wings ,
Air force Academy .

You can join Indian Army as an officer after the 10+2 through National defence academy examination. The National defence academy examination is conducted by the Union Public Service commission twice in a year. This exam is conducted for the selection of candidate as an officer in Indian Army, Air force and Navy. The eligibility criteria required for the National defence academy examination is given below:

Education Qualification
Candidate applying for the National defence academy examination should be 10+2 pass. Those appeared in the 10+2 exam or going to be appeared for the examination are also eligible to apply for the National defence academy examination.
It should be note that candidate applying for the Indian Air force and Navy should have physics and Maths at 10+2.

NDA (national defence academy ) recruit for different types of posts for men which required different qualification.

so,keeping in consideration that you are from commerce background,the post in which you can apply are~

1.SOLDIER (general duty ) ~

QUALIFICATION NEEDED - passed 10+2

AGE - 17.5 -21 YR.

QUALIFICATION - 10+2 passed in any stream with 50 % aggregate and 40 % in each subjects.

T join in indian army you need to appear NDA(National Defence Academy) exam which is conducted by the UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) two times in a year i.e

NDA-I,

NDA-II.


NDA has three wings:


They are:

Indian army,

Indian navy,

Indian airforce.

Eligibility criteria:

The candidate should be complete 12th standard from a recognised state board.

For airforce and navy wings the candidate must have PCM subjects in 12th standard.

Age limits is 16.5 years to 19 years and there is no age relaxation for obc or sc/st candidates.

The candidate must be physically fit.


Important things:

Only unmarried male candidates are eligible for NDA, Girls are not eligible.

The candidate should be a citizen of india.
