IPS stands for Indian Police Service , As you are interested for IPS you have to appear Civil Service Exam which is conducted through UPSC every year ..

Educational Qualifications:

Any Graduate with minimum pass marks from recognized University can eligible to apply for this exam, The final year candidates those who are interested can also apply for this exam.

Physical details:

Height:

A Male Candidate must have minimum 165cm for General Category candidate

A Female Candidate must have minimum 150cm fir General Category Candidate

For SC/ST/OBC Male Candidate require minimum height 160cm and Female candidate require minimum height is 1405cm

Chest

Male Candidate require 84 cm,Expandable chest is 89cm
Female Candidate require 79cm and Expandable chest is 84cm

Age Limits:

A candidate must have attained minimum 21 years and not maximum 30 years .
For SC/ST candidates-21-35Years
OBC candidates-21-33Years.

No of Attempt:

General - 4
Obc - 7
Sc/St - un limited

Apart from this the thing which you should keep in mind are:

First you have proper planning for each subject.
You should prefer ncert books.
You shold keep updated yourself like what is happening in the world.
For that you read newspaper daily.
You should choose the subject which are high scoring.
Last but not the least you should solve atleast previous 5 years question paper.
