The Karnataka State Open University, offers Diploma in various Engineering Departments including Mechanical through correspondence mode. The duration of the program is three years and comprises of six semesters. Candidates who have passed the Xth standard with Maths are eligible to pursue the program. Provision for direct admission in to the third semester through lateral entry is applicable for those candidates who have either passed the +2 level of Exam from a recognized Board with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English or +2 in Technical departments or Xth with ITI. The duration of the program for such candidates is two years.
