Re: How to do Ph.D after M.Pharmaceutics? Difference between parttime and fulltime PhD?
Masters degree is required to gain admission to a doctoral program
entrance exams are mandatory for PhD For some prestigious universities it is required to qualify the all India level examination such as ‘National Eligibility Test for Lectureship (NET)conducted by ‘University Grants Commission UGC has exempted PhD holders who do their doctoral programmes under the new norms from clearing the National Eligibility Test (NET) for lectureship. students will have to do course work for at least a semester. The course will be treated as pre-research preparation The new norms will ensure that before submission of theses, students make a pre-MPhil/PhD presentation in the department for feedback. It will also be mandatory for them to publish one research paper in a refereed journal. The thesis will be evaluated by two experts, including one outside the state, followed by a viva-voce examination ♦FULL TIME♦ The minimum period of research work is three years from the date of registration in the case of Master's degree holders; and two years from the date of registration in the case of M.Phil or equivalent degree holders. The maximum period for completion of the Ph.D. programme for Master's Degree holders shall be five years in the case of full-time candidates and six years in the case of Part time candidates. ♦PART TIME♦ The minimum period of research work is four years from the date of registration in the case of Master's Degree holders and three years from the date of registration in the case of M.Phil. or equivalent degree holders. The maximum period for completion of the Ph.D. programme for Master's Degree holders shall be five years in the case of full-time candidates and six years in the case of Part time candidates. Maximum period prescribed for M.Phil. degree holders is 4 years in case of full-time and 5 years in case of Part-time candidates. |

Re: How to do Ph.D after M.Pharmaceutics? Difference between parttime and fulltime PhD?
hi dear as you are going to complete your masters degree you need to appear for UGC-NET exam to take admission in phd . difference between part time and full time phd is that you may complete your phd along with your job for which you need not to crack any exam you can just take admission on interview basis whereas in case of regular phd you will be awarded with the stipend of 20000/- per month and net exam is mandatory after regular phd you may be able to sit r &d section placement but in case of part time it is just for your promotion in specific job . so regular phd is far far good than part time go for it . and subject in net will be basic subject of your masters degree .
all the best |
