please tell me the valuability of gate?
how much marks are needed to qualifying this exam?

Hiiiiii,

GATE exam is useful for taking admission in M.E. or M.Tech.

If you pass the GATE exam once time then it is valid for 02 Years.

Minimum 40 % marks are needed to qualifying the GATE exam.

Eligibility for GATE exam: -

1. Pass B.E. or B.Tech or equivalent degree in Electronics & Communication Engg. or Mechanical Engg. or aeronautical engineering or Computer Science Engg. or Chemical Engg. or Electrical Engg. with a minimum of 65% aggregate marks from a recognized Institute / University.

2. Nationality - Indian

3. Age - 21 Years to 30 Years for General candidates, 21 Years to 33 Years for OBC candidates and 21 Years to 35 Years for SC / ST candidates.

WELL gatw exam is useful to get admission to good colleges including IITs and NITs .if one wants to pursue higher education from these colleges then he or she should have
given GATE EXAM and must score good only then you can do your M.TECH from these
colleges .

GATE EXAM is conducted every year .the gate score valid for 2 years so it mean that
when you are in your pre final year you can give exam .

there is no age limit and hence there is no limit in number of time you can give this exam

here is the cutoff of previous year GATE EXAM .

And the cut off marks is set different each year and also varies stream wise like this year for electrical it was 26.08 and for getting into IITs you need to score around 97% above.

GATE have its own impotance 4 engineering student it is just a higher studies in engineering...student used to 4 it for more experience as well 4 good technical knowledge in particular field.

1.GATE exam is a most valuable exam because once u qualify this exam then u can get a chance to study in big university and u also get stipend for this.
2 .u need 38.7% marks for qualifying this exam.

1-if you are not geting job from your b.tech or b.e. level then you will select m.tech for engginearing field jobs.
2-if you want to reserch on any subject then gate is the perfect plateform for you.
3-also you will get a master,s degrre from agood college(iit)

for getting admission in nit------->40+

GATE is very valuable because it give specialization in the particular field...and since u have passed gate exam so u will be able to sellect best college of the country for m.tech or M.E....all the best

As far as i know Admission to post graduate programmes with MHRD and some other government scholarship/assistantship at engineering colleges/institutes in the country are open to those who qualify through GATE.

GATE qualified candidates with Bachelor degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Pharmacy or Master degree in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications are eligible for Master/Doctoral programmes in Engineering/ Technology/Architecture/Pharmacy as well as for Doctoral programmes in relevant branches of Science.
To avail the scholarship, the candidate must additionally secure admission to such a postgraduate programme, as per the prevailing procedure of the admitting institution.
GATE qualification, however, is not required for candidates with Master degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Pharmacy who may be seeking scholarship/assistantship for relevant doctoral programmes.
The overall coordination and responsibility of conducting GATE 2011 lies with

Indian Institute of Technology Madras , designated as the Organizing Institute for GATE 2011

gate exam is useful for the admission of students in m.tech courses in various colleges and universities across the country,
also the government of India gives an scholarship of rs.8000 per month for students who have qualified gate exam and are doing m.tech.
there are many companies which also offer job on the basis of the gate score like IOCL AND BARC.
the marks needed to qualify the exam is different for different subjects ,
like this year the qualifying marks for civil engineering was 25 for general students,
this qualifying mark changes from year to year and depends on the the number of students writing the exam and the level of competition in the exam

Gate is very important exam and after clearing it than you will get direct admission in the Master in Technology and Master in Electronics post graduation courses. So you can understand the importance of the exam.

Gate exam is conducting every year like the IIT And AIEEE Exam it is also same exam as after passing in the IIT And AIEEE You will get admission in the B.TECH Course and simple after clearing the Gate exam you will get admission in the M.TECH Exam.

After Passing your graduation degree from Bachelor in Technology or in BE You can apply for the Gate exam as these degree are the minimum qualifications required for the gate exam.

Qualifications Required for the GATE Exam :

-The Candidate should be pass in the graduation degree

-The Candidate should be pass in the graduation degree either in b.tech or b.e

-The Final year students can also apply for the gate exam
