how to get admission after 12th in genetic engeenering?In Which entrance test we should apply?

Most of the institutes do not offer pure specialisation in Genetic engineering at the under graduate level. It is generally offered as a subsidiary i.e. along with other subjects like microbiology, biochemistry etc in universities like Osmania University, Kakatiya University. Specialisation in genetic engineering is generally offered at the post graduate level. Some of the institutes offering the same include IIT Delhi and Kharagpur, JNU, BITS Pilani. B.Sc in Genetics is offered by Institute of Genetic Engineering in Kolkata. There is no entrance exam as admission is based on 12th marks.

ELIGIBLITY FOR GENETIC ENGINEERING

Educational :
1.A qualified genetic engineer, must have a graduate / postgraduate degree in genetics or related fields such as biotechnology, molecular biology, microbiology or biochemistry.

2.The basic eligibility criteria for a graduate degree (BE / B.Tech) is 10+2 or equivalent examination, with Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics as well as genetics as part of the biology OR a bachelors degree in science or molecular biology.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

Selection to the graduate courses ( BE / B.Tech ) is based on merit i.e the marks secured in the final exams of 10+2 and through entrance exams. Entrance to the IIT's is through JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) and for other institutions through their own separate entrance exams and other state level and national level exams. Apart from the IIT's, some other famous institutes also recognize JEE scores for selection.

Genetic engineering is field which involves manipulating the genes to suit one needs.This is one of the branches of engineering.So enter this field it is a must that you should have persued the science subjects in your 12th with PCM subjects.

ELIGIBILITY:
You should completed their 12th with physics ,chemistry, and mathematics.
you should have a minimum 50% marks in 12 standard.
Those who are appearing in the 12th standard examination may also eligible to apply.
You can not join Genetic engineering with PCB subjects.you must have PCM combination in 12th standard.If you have PCMB then also you are eligible.
If you wish to persue Genetic Engineering,you have to clear an entrance test.the entrance tests carried out for the purpose are IIT,AIEEE and state level entrance tests.
There are quite a few institutes which offer Genetic engineeringcourse.

If u seek for B.tech. u may apply for VITEEE, SRM or LPU. If u seek for B.Sc u should go for Institute of genetic engg. at Kolkata.

first of all you need to pay attention on your mark percentages so that it is easy to decide whether to give the entrance exam of AIEEE or may be IIT.

genetic study is very hard course in engineering life but if u will study throught the semester then it become easier for u

Genetic engineering is a branch of B.E./B.tech course.The basic eligibility criteria for the B.E./B.tech course is to have a successfully pass out in +2 with mathematics as a major subject.

For getting the admission in good and reputed engineering colleges, you must have to appear in the entrance test like JEE MAINS JEE ADVNACE VITEE BITSAT etc.On the basis of your rank and performance you will get the engineering college.
