After qualifying Secondary level of examination (10th Standard), one can join Indian Army as an Soldier.

As an Soldier, one may join in the following branches:

General Duty:
To be considered eligible, candidate must have scored a minimum of 45% in matriculation including 32% marks in each subjects.
The minimum eligible age to apply for the same is 17 years 6 months and the maximum age limit is 21 years.

Soldier Tradesmen:
To join as Soldier Tradesmen, there is no percentage criteria and candidates who have qualified secondary level of examination and within the age limit of 17 years 6 months to 23 years are eligible to apply.

After passing 10th you can join Indian Army..
For this you have to qualify the exam conducted by Army Recruitment Board..

If you want to join Indian Army then you can contact to Army recruitment Center of you district..

After completing intermediate the job is available in the
Railway sector,airforce,army,naval wings.After 12th the SCRA is the best job of Railway board.you do graduation course then after completing graduation course
you have many option. After graduation you can apply for the UPSC
examination, Railway, Banking and many other to do graduation course and then apply for the job.
After completing graduation you will be eligible for the many examination.

You cannot join INDIAN ARMY on the basis of 10th so to join INDIAN ARMY through NDA you must have an educational qualification of 12th so that you are eligible to apply for the course.

So it is advisable to you to first complete your 12th class and then appear for the NDA exam to become an Army Officer.

If you wanted to go in INDIAN AIR FORCE or INDIAN NAVY then you must take SCIENCE STREAM in 11th and 12th class.


The Eligibility criteria to appear in the NDA exam is as under-

1)You should be a citizen of INDIA.

2)You should have done your 12th class from a recognized board.

3)A student appearing for the 12th class exams is also eligible to appear for the exams.

4)Your age should be between 16.5 years to 19 years.

5)You should be physically fit.

6)You must be a male and unmarried candidate.

However there there is only one option left for you that you can join in indian army as a soldier after 10th class in the following branches as under-

1.General Duty,

2.Soldier tradesmen.

After passing 10th you can get admission to Indian Army but in lower Grade as Soldier for which recruitment is usually done through recruitment office situated in various State.

But after 12th you can join Indian Army as an Officer through Nda Exam.

The candidate must be an unmarried Indian male having either appear for the final 12th exam or pass in any stream from a recognised Board within the age of 16.5 to 19 years with good Physical Fitness.

The information regarding how to join in Indian army and other procedures are mentioned below:

General Eligibility Criteria:

Unmarried male Indian citizens (including those of Nepal) are eligible.

Essential Qualification:

Matriculation or equivalent with Mathematics, English and Science.

Age Limits:
16 to 23 years.

Physical Standards:
Height - 167 cms, relaxable for certain regions.
Weight - 50 kg, relaxable for certain regions.
Chest - 77/82 cm.

Medical Standards
A candidate should have robust physique and good mental health. Chest should be well developed having minimum 5 cms expansion. Should have normal hearing with each ear and good binocular vision in both eyes. He should be able to read 6/6 in distant vision chart with each eye. Colour vision should be CP-III. Should recognize red and green colours. Should have sufficient number of natural healthy gum and teeth i.e. minimum 14 dental points. Should not have disease like deformity of bones, hydrocele and varicocle or piles.

To join Indian Army you need to be a 10 pass out minimum. You have to give an exam conducted by the UPSC.

=>>You can join National Defense Academy or NDA you can join indian army if you complete your class 12 exam. This exam is conducted twice a year and only unmarried male candidates of india can give this exam if they are aged between 16.5-19 years. Girls are not allowed.

=>>After completing your graduation you can get a chance to enter indian army by giving the Combined Defence Services Examination or CDSE. To give this exam your age should be between 19-24.

=>>There is a Direct Entry Scheme for the engineering students where they just need to complete their graduation and apply. They have to pass the service selection board interview that is it. Age while applying should be between 20-27 years.

Eligibility details:-
