Complete you B.Tech and then appear for the entrance exams as per your choice conducted by the UPSC, SSC, State Level PSC, RRB etc. In India there are several entrance exams conducted by central and state government for different departments and in different grades all across India for technicians. You can choose the organization for which you wish to appear for the exam and appear for it.

Quote:
To get a Government job, you should study your Engineering subjects very nicely and along with studying theories, practice problems as well. You should try for these examinations: 1. GATE: Official website: gate.iitkgp.ac.in/gate2014/ 2. UPSC IES: Official website: www.upsc.gov.in If you are ready to take job other than your Engineering field then you may consider writing IBPS, CDS and similar examinations also. All the best. Thank you. |

Re: How to get a government job after passing B.Tech 3rd year?
There are number of government jobs for the Engineers to apply. Although if you had mentioned the branch of Engineering, i would have been able to answer the question properly, but still let me point out some options to you.
Public Sector Undertaking The PSU companies are good option for any engineer who is seeking government sector jobs. Public Sector Undertaking are the companies under the government control that are dedicated to different fields. They require Engineering graduates for which entrance exam is conducted. Unfortunately there is no single entrance exam. Each company has its own. There are more than 150 such companies in India. You will have to wait for the notification from the company. After which you should apply for the job only if Engineers from your branch are required by the Public Sector Undertaking. What you need to do next is to appear for written test and a interview to get the job. However criteria is different in some companies that ask for GATE score from candidate and do not conduct the entrance exam. PSU Eligibility 1. Jobs are only open for Indian nationals. 2. B.Tech degree is required to apply for jobs. 3. Should have 60 percent marks in Engineering. 4. There should be no pending backlogs when you apply for the job. 5. The age limit is 21 to 30 years for the exam. 6. 3 years relaxation is given to OBC and 5 years for SC/ST. 7. You should also appear for the GATE Exam. List of PSU BHEL SAIL DRDO HAL ISRP BPCL NALCO NTPC HPCL MTNL BSNL IOCL ONGC ECIL BEL Indian Engineering Service Other good option is the Indian Engineering Service entrance exam. There are various government departments, which should not be confused with PSU that also need Engineering graduates. Indian Engineering Service exam is conduced in 4 branches of B.Tech 1) Civil 2) Mechanical 3) Electrical 4) Electronics and Communications Eligibility 1. You should be Indian national to apply. 2. Bachelor degree in Engineering is required. 3. There is no criteria for marks. 4. You should be 21 to 30 years old. 5. Relaxation for OBC is 3 years. 6. Relaxation for SC/ST is 5 years. |
