IES exam stands for Indian engineering service which is conducted by UPSC.

Eligibility for I.E.S :-

You must have a degree in engineering from a recognized university or equivalent qualification.

Engineering degree in Civil,Mechanical,Electrical,Electronics and Telecommunication engineering.

Your age should be 21 years to 30 years and upper age limits exists as per.Govt rules.

IES Stands for Indian Engineering Service examination and this examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission Once in a year.

The eligible Engineering streams are-Civil Engineering , Mechanical Engineering , Electrical Engineering and Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering

There is not require any kind of percentage marks in your graduation degree .Final year student also eligible for IES exam .

In Initial joining you have not get any promotion but in fututre you will get the promotion for M-Tech degree.

The applicant age should between 21 yrs to 30 yrs.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC candidate.

The acronym for IES is Indian Engineering Services.

UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) conducts IES examination every year for one time.

The eligibility criteria required for IES examination are prescribed as below:-

* Completion of graduation in engineering(B.E./B.Tech) from any recognized university in these following disciplines:-
1. Civil Engineering.
2. Mechanical Engineering.
3. Electrical Engineering.
4. Electronics $ Communication Engineering.

* Completion of post-graduation(M.Sc/M.Tech) in Radio Physics, Wireless Communications, Radio Engineering, Electronics.

* Age limit:- 21-30 yrs.

* Age relaxation:- 3 yrs for OBC and 5 yrs for SC/ST contenders.

* Nationality:- Indian.

Civil Engineers are eligible for the Indian Engineering Service entrance exam. It is a annual entrance exam which is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. If you have completed Civil Engineering or awaiting the result, then you are eligible for the entrance exam.

Indian Engineering Service is conducted for few hundred jobs in the various government departments that are related to bridge construction, road construction, highways etc. in the Civil Engineering field.

Apart from Civil Engineers, candidates with valid degree in Electrical, Mechanical and Electronics and Communications are also eligible for the Indian Engineering Service.

The Civil Engineers are eligible for jobs in the following departments:

1. Indian Railway Service of Engineers

2. Indian Railway Stores Service

3. Central Engineering Service

4. Indian Defense Service of Engineers

5. Indian Ordnance Factories Service (IOFS)

6. Central Water Engineering

7. Central Engineering Service (Roads)

8. Border Roads Engineering Service


Eligibility Criteria

1. At present only Indian nationals are allowed to appear for IES.

2. You should have B.Tech degree from a recognized college.

3. There is no criteria for percentage.

4. As on August 1, your age should be more than 21 years and less than 30 years.

5. The candidate of OBC category can appear till 33 years.

6. SC/ST candidate can appear till 35 years.

Step 1: The very first step for this is to become eligible for the Indian Engineering services examinations:

The eligibility criteria for the IES exam is discussed as below:

>>Bachelor's degree in any discipline of engineering/technology is the minimum requirement for the IES exam.Final year bachelor's degree candidates may also apply for the exam.

Since you are a Civil engineer,you need not to worry for the exam in respect for the educational qualifications.

>>The second important thing is the age criteria is the 21-30 years for the general category and three years age relaxation for the obc and five years for the SC/ST respectively.

>>You must be an Indian citizen.

Step2: If you satisfy all the three criteria then you will have to apply for the Indian engineering services examinations conducted by the UPSC every year at the www.upsconline.nic.in.

The examination pattern for this exam is :

If you clear the IES exams ,then you will become an IES officer.Friend this exam is toughest exam for the engineers and it not easy to crack.
