Re: Syllabus of Civil Engineering for IES Exam?
ABOUT IES
IES is an examination conducted by the UPSC board for the recruitment of engineers into the various departments that are run by the central government. The various department includes 1) Indian railway service. 2) Indian defence service. These are common for all the trades. the ones which are exclusive for the civil branch students are 1) Central PWD 2) Delhi Metro rail Corporation. 3) PWD. 4) Housing development Board. IES EXAM IES exams are usually conducted for a total of 1200 marks out of which 1000 marks are for the test and the remaining 200 marks are for the interviews. for the written exam, there would be 3 parts. 1) General aptitude 2) Civil engineering paper 1 3) civil engineering paper 2 one third mark would be deducted for each wrong answer. while prepairing the civil topics give preference to 1) Geotechical engineering 2) Building materials. 3) Structural engg.
