There are basically two ways to join Indian Officer as an officer:

• By qualifying Air Force Common Admission Test
• By qualifying Combined Defense Service Examination

The Air Force Common Admission Test is conducted for all the major branches of Indian Army and graduates belonging to technical as well as non technical disciplines may take the test for specific branches depending upon there qualification whereas Combined Defense Service Examination enables candidates to join only the Flying Branch of Indian Air Force.

Both Air Force Common Admission Test and Combined Defense Service Examination is conducted twice a year.
The online application form for Combined Defense Service Examination is made available as per schedule on www.upsconline.nic.in and the application form of Air Force Common Admission Test is made available on www.careerairforce.nic.in.

The notification of both the examinations are published in India's leading newspapers including Employment News and on the official website of the Union Public Service Commission and Indian Air Force.

You have not mentioned your qualification .

If you are completed 12th exam then you can go for NDA exam or if you are completed graduate degree them you can apply Air force Academy through CDS examination . Both examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission twice in a year .

Air force through NDA :-

You must have a possess a intermediate(12th) exam or equivalent exam of a recognized School and you must have a Maths and Physics as subjects at 12th examination . There is no minimum marks required for this examination . Those who are appearing in the final year of 12th exam can also eligible to apply for Air force exam . Age should be between 16.5 years and 19 years .

NDA (II) notification was already out and last date for receipt of application was already closed on 04/06/12 . The examination will be held on 19/08/12 .

Air force through CDS :-

You must have a possess a graduate degree with any desire subject exam or equivalent exam of a recognized School and you must have a Maths and Physics as subjects at 12th examination OR those who are completed engineering may also eligible to apply . There is no minimum marks required for this examination . Those who are appearing in the final year of degree course can also eligible to apply for Air force exam . Age should be between 19 years and 23 years . There is no relaxation for this exam .

CDS II (II) notification was already out and last date for receipt of application on 02/07/12 . The examination will be held on 16/09/12 .

NDA stands for National Defence Service. This exam conducted by the upsc twice in a year.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR NDA:

the candidate should be citizen of india.

The candidate should complete the 12th standard from recognized university.

There is no minimum percentage required to eligible for this exam.

The physics chemistry and mathematics compulsory subjects to the indian air force.

The age limit should be between 16.5 to 19 years.

Only unmarried male candidates are eligible for this exam.

Girls are not eligible.

The candidate should be physically fit.

medical test

CDS stands for combined defence service. This exam conducted by the upsc twice in a year.

ELIGIBILITY FOR CDS:

the candidate should be complete the graduation from any recognized university.

To join in indian airforce you have two options one is NDA(National Defence Academy) exam and another one is CDS(Combined Defence Service) exam.

These two exams are conducted by the UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) two times in every year.

Details about CDS exam:-

To apply this exam you must have graduation or equivalent degree in any stream from a recognised university.

To apply this exam there is no percentage restrictions in your graduation.

The candidate should be a citizen of india.

Male and female candidates are eligible.

There are four wings in this exam

Indian naval academy,

Indian military academy,

Indian airforce academy,

Officer training academy.

The age limits for this wings is given below:-

For naval academy-->19 years to 22years,

For airforce academy-->19years to 23years,

For military academy-->19 years to 24 years,

For officer training academy-->19 years to 25years.


Details about NDA examination:-

The candidate should be complete +2 from a recognised state or central board.

The age limits is 16.5 years to 19 years.

Only unmarried male candidates are eligible i.e girls are not eligible for NDA.

The candidate should be a citizen of india and physically fit.
