Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized UGC university is minimum requirement for joining Indian Police Services. You are not eligible for Civil Service Exam after completion of diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

You must do bachelor's degree in any stream, it would be better for you to go for B.Tech through LEET exam directly in second year of technology so that you can apply for Civil Services exam in final year of mechanical engineering.

Age limit for Civil Services is 21-32 years.
