Economics , Electrical Engineering,Geography, Geology ,History, Law,Management, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Medical Science, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science and International Relations, Psychology, Public Administration, Sociology,Statistics, Zoology, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Anthropology,Botany, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Commerce and Accountancy.

You can choose the subject in sense of your strength . Because this is dependable to you.

In IAS exam optional subjects are very important.you have to take while choosing optional subjects.you should choose optional subject according to your intrest.

What are the subjects which can be chosen by a student who has done bca for ias exam ?

Indian Administrative Service exam is conducted under the Civil Services Exam. The forms of this exam are released towards the first quarter of the year while the exam is conducted in two stages.

First stage is called Preliminary Exam that is conducted in May/June. Here the purpose is to only qualify for the next stage. The marks obtained here will not be added to your final tally.

There are two written tests in the preliminary exam. First one is general studies and second one in optional subject.

Those who manages to clear the preliminary exam are called for the stage two which is the Main Examination. Your score in this exam would be the final tally basis of which the candidates will be selected.

There will be 9 written tests in the main examination. Out of 9 written tests the four are conducted on the optional subject. The candidate has to select two optional subjects on which 4 written tests will be conducted.

Therefore you will have to select two optional subjects. You are free to choose any but please remember it should be related to your course or the ones that you find easy. Don't go for the subjects that are unknown for you as it would be difficult to prepare for such subjects.
