Re: How much marks are required to pass UGC NET?
National Eligibility Test is for lectureship and JRF. To appear for the exam you must have post graduation degree or at least you should be in final year of post graduation course. Otherwise you are not eligible.
The test is conducted by University Grants Commission in June and December. There are two written tests regardless of which subject you are appearing for. The minimum qualfying marks are different for different category. Eligibility 1. PG degree with 55 percent marks. 2. For SC/ST, PG degree with 50 percent marks. 3. Final year students are also eligible. 4. They should submit the degree in 2 years. 5. Subject will be decided based on your PG course. 6. Age limit for JRF - 28 years. 7. No upper age limit for lecureship. NET Qualifying Marks General Paper 1 - 40% Paper 2 - 40% Paper 3 - 50% Aggregate of 3 subjects should be 65% OBC Paper 1 - 35% Paper 2 - 35% Paper 3 - 45% Aggregate of 3 subjects should be 60% SC/ST/PWD Paper 1 - 35% Paper 2 - 35% Paper 3 - 40% Aggregate should be 55% for all three subjects. Please remember that this is minimum marks to clear the NET exam and not the cut off list. |

Re: How much marks are required to pass UGC NET?
The cut off marks will change every year according to the situation. So it is difficult to predict what marks are required for qualifying UGC NET.
But you can take note of previous cut offs and may aim at certain marks for qualifying the examination. But you must give your best in the examination because cut off may increase or decrease according to some factors. If the question paper is easy then cut off will definitely increase and if the paper is difficult then it will decrease for sure. Also for different subjects cut off will be different. You have not mentioned your subject for UGC NET. For detailed cut off of UGC NET 2012 please download the attachment. |
