What is the eligibility criteira for UGC NET? I have scored 55% marks


dear sir/madam it is clear that 55% marks are required in post graduation for appearing in ugc net but my question is what percentage of marks are required in graduation for the same or whether it is even required or not??

NET stands for National Eligibility Test which is conducted twice time in year by UGC.This test will be conduct for only lectureship , PHD and JRF .

Those candidate who have completed masters degree from recognized university are eligible for NET exam .For general and OBC candidate must be hold 55% above marks in masters degree. For SC/ST candidate must be hold 50% above in masters degree.

No , UGC NET is not required any marks in graduation degree .

Age Criteria for NET Exam:-

For JRF Post :- Your age should be in below 28 years old.

For Lectureship Post :- There is no age criteria .

From 2012 NET exam pattern is changed , Changed section are all questions are Multiple choice .There is no negative marking .

Graduation course marks are not taking into consideration ( or ) In other word graduation course score not necessary for UGC NET examination. Only a master degree course marks are take into consideration. So, please don't worry. If you have scored 55% percentage of marks in your master degree course, then definitely you are eligible for UGC NET entrance examination.

NET stands for National Eligibility Criteria and this Examination is conducted by the University Grants Commission. This Examination held twice in a year. The candidate who aspiring to become a Lecturer then the candidate should compulsory qualified in NET Examination.

Eligibility Criteria:-

~The candidate should be a master degree holder in any discipline with at least 55% (50% for SC/ST category of students) aggregate marks from recognized university.

~Appearing for final semester examination can also eligible to apply for this entrance examination.

~For Junior Research Fellowship:- The candidate should not have crossed the age of 28 years Age relaxation for applicants under SC / ST, OBC and other categories are determined by the rules of the government. Upper age limit for SC / ST applicants is 5 years. For OBC applicants (who are eligible to avail reservation) upper age limit is 3 years.

~For Lectureship:- No age limit required.

Examination Fees for NET Examination :-

-General Candidates for :- Rs . 450
-SC/ST Candidates for :- Rs. 110
-OBC and other Backward Candidates for :- Rs. 225
