Quote:
First Step: Minimum marks required for the General Category Candidates in the UGC NET exams are: Paper 1- 40 marks Paper 2- 40 marks Paper 3- 75 marks Second Step: Total aggregate marks of all the candidates are taken who get the above minimum marks in each subject This is done category wise like General, OBC and SC/ST. Third Step: Top 15% candidates who are there in step 2 are declared qualified Since you have just scored 70 marks in Paper 3, so you ahve not cleared the step 1 also , so not qualified |

Re: How much marks are required to pass UGC NET paper 1,2,3?
Sir, I've score the most minimum marks to pass the net exam on my first attempt for psychology. In paper 1 I scored 40 (40%), in Paper 2, I scored 40(40%) and in paper 3, I scored 75(50%). As per the criteria of NET, I've scored the minimum required to pass.
My question is that if I will get the "NET pass certificate". I want to pursue a PHD, so is it necessary to score above the qualifying criteria of the 15% to get the certificate or can I get the certificate of NET passed? |

Re: How much marks are required to pass UGC NET paper 1,2,3?
Hi.. If you are not selected for JRF or Assistant Professorship,You can not claim that you have passed NET. By getting minimum pass marks wont make you to clear NET. As far as my knowledge, first 15% candidates who qualified NET is getting assistant professorship in each subject, and the first 15% of those who qualified assistant professorship is qualifying for JRF.
