IPS Stands for Indian Police Service examination and this examination is conducted Once in a year by Union Public Service Commission.

To become a IPS officer,then the candidate need to appear for Civil Service examination.

Civil Service Examination can be divided into three stages :-

-Preliminary examination
-Main examination
-Personal Interview

Preliminary examination can be divided into two papers and both paper are objective type.Duration of examination is 2 hrs.

Paper - I

-Current events
-History of India
-Indian and World Geography
-Indian Polity and governance
-Economic and Social development
-General Issues
-General Science

Paper - II

-Comprehension
-Interpersonal Skills and Including Communication Skills

-Age should have attained the age of 21 years and must have not attained the age of 30 years as on 1st August of the year of examination.
-Those in the final year of degree course may also eligible to apply.
-The candidate must be physically fit to the physical standards for admission to Indian Police Service.

IPS officer,candidate need to appear for Civil Service examination.
CSE has three section :-

• Preliminary examination(120 Min)
• Main examination

In the Preliminary examination has two section and both are objective type.

IPS stands for Indian Police Service. To become IPS Officer you have to apply for UPSC Civil services examination, This examination is Conducted by UPSC Every year in 2 stages :

1. Preliminary examination 2. Main examination

Preliminary examination is also known as Civil Services Aptitude Test(CSAT) and this examination is Conducted every year. If you cracked the Preliminary examination then you are eligible for Main examination, Main examination is Descriptive and you have to choose the Optional Subjects in Main examination on the basis of Graduation.

So prepare well for the Preliminary examination, This examination is Objective and there are 2 papers in this examination and Both are of same marks and Duration.

So the only key is work hard as well as you can for Preliminary examination, So that you will qualify for Main examination. The selection is based on Written test and Personal Interview along with Medical Test.

Dear Friend,
The examination for the post of IPS officer is conducted by the UPSC every year in the form of Civil Service Examination. The examination is conducted in three stages as:-

1. Preliminary Examination
2. Main examination
3. Personal Interview

The Preliminary examination is consist of two papers Paper-I and Paper-II.Each paper is of 200 marks and two hours duration.
In paper one the following topics will come:-

• Current events National and International Importance
• History of India and Indian National Movement
• Indian and world geography
• Indian politics and government
• Economical and social development
• General issue of Environment
• General Science

The Paper-II consist of the following topics :-

• Comprehension
• Logical reasoning and analytical ability
• Decision making and Problem solving
• General Mental Ability
• General Numeric Ability
• Interpersonal Skill including Communication Skill
• English Language and Comprehension

You can prepare for these papers accordingly. There are various books are available in the market. You can also join a good coaching for the Preparation.

My self arun bhardwaj serving in a merchant shipping company on the rank of 2nd officer, have a doubt about to eligibility of appearing qualification for IAS posts. sir i have Bsc. nautical science degree awarded by IGNOU, is am i applicable to submit the above maintion form?????? please clarify my doubt.

is computer qualification required for appearing in civil sevices exams? if yes than what type of computer knowledge?
