GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. This exam will let the candidates to pursue M.Tech course after the completion of B.Tech course.

Here I am providing the guidelines to prepare for GATE Exam.

-Try to purchase GATE questions and answers books from the outside the market. Go through them with regard to your B.Tech syllabus and be perfect in those concepts.

This will let you know the pattern of questions that will be asked in GATE Exam.

Here I am providing you some of the previous year question papers of GATE Exam of your CSE stream.

Go through them and make most use out of them. In addition to these previous year question papers, have practice of various model question papers of GATE Exam.

There is every chance that the same questions or with the same pattern will be asked in the actual GATE Exam.

Appear for GATE Exam in your final year of B.Tech itself as there is no limit on the number of attempts for GATE Exam and you can use the GATE score card for 2 years.

This is a very fine time for you to start preparing for your GATE exam. Most people would say its early, but its not.

In fact you can go Step by step in your preparation so that its is gradual and all the concepts get time to settle in your system.

GATE basically targets the course content that is taught in 2nd and 3rd year. So 1st year, you are to brush up your 10+2 concepts, analyze them a bit more. Enjoy your college life.

From 2nd year onwards, you have to be serious. All the important concepts and contents start right from there. So apart from studying for your regular college, give some time for your GATE Preparation.

You can buy some handy books like GATE 2012 as of now and start searching them. You would gradually build an interest and stamina to prepare for GATE at a flow.

No need to work very hard, as GATE and your college course would go parallel to each other. You have to be up to date with your college courses and side by side prepare for the Objective pattern of GATE.

Good luck.
