i am student of B.E. first year can i sit in gate exam.?

Am I eligible to sit in 1st year itself?

hii friend
u can sit in gate.but u cann't answer the question bcoz the questions are very top.and the gate score also valid for 2 yrs.so if u qalify by chance then u cann't take admission.

you can not sit in the GATE this year as you are a 1st year student, B.E/B.tech 3rd year or final year student are eligible for the exam.the score card of GATE is eligible for 2 years.So you prepare for it since now & can apply for it in 3rd year.

No, you are not eligible to appear in GATE exam now because it is mandatory to complete bachelor degree. so first of all try to complete your bachelor's degree and then apply for it.

M.Tech is a option getting master degree for B.Tech student.it is a top level exam for taking addmission in IIT colleges in M.Tech.for M.tech you should require more and more knowledge.you can apply for M.Tech in 3rd or 4th year .
for sellection in M.Tech first acquire more and more knowlge and after try fog M.Tech.
you can get sellection in M.Tech.

I am sorry,you may not sit in the gate examination in 1st year, you can sit in the gate exam after 2nd year i.e you can sit in this exam in 3rd and 4th year of B.E.

your not eligible for the gate exam.this is the minimum eligibility for the

engineering.bachelor's degree holders engineering/technology /architecture/

pharmacy (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final

year of such Programmesthat why wait for few yrs then apply for the exam.

WHY HAVE YOU SO MUCH HURRY FOR GATE ??

NO , You can't apply for GATE examination during first year of B.E.

because syllabus of GATE is up to your 6th sem. so , it is useless to attend GATE without any knowledge of any subject...

from 2011 , GATE certificate is valuable for 2 years . So , you can give exam in 3 rd year..and after that also in 4th year..

Without good knowledge of syllabus and practice for exam, it is useless to appear the exam.

You can give GATE in 1st year itself but it is of no use. Score of GATE is valid for 2 years. So generally people give it in 3rd or 4th year. If you are thinking of giving GATE for the sake of experience, then refrain from it and give it in the 3rd year because at this time, your knowledge base is not so good and ultimately it might end up in lowering your confidence rather than boosting it.

If you apply in GATE exam then your seat will be booked for 2 years ,so in first year applying for it is of no worth . But for experience you can apply because it will give you a good way for your further prepartions.

you can not sit for the exam when you are in the third year,
you should be either in final,pre-final or passed out of college to sit in the gate exam,
the reason being that most of the questions in the exam comes from the third year and final year and being in the first year you will not be in an position to answer that questions and hence there is no point in writing the gate exam for you,
keep preparing from now only and make your basics strong so that when you come to third year you will be ready for the exam

Sorry You can't sit for Gate Exam being in Ist year Of Engineering.

Because For writing gate Exam candidate has to be Pre final year Or Final year ..of their Graduation.

If you want to give gate. Then its of no use because if you clear it, That score will be valid for Two years. and you will be in 3rd year and your validity for your score card will get over.

So, Its of no use thats why IIT's has designed the crieteria such that only pre final and final year only can give this Exam.

Even if you see syllabus point of view, there are some subjects which you gonna face in your third and 2nd year of your Engineering.

So, better you start preparing For Gate. You will Definitely Crack this because i am seeing such a passion to Write Gate in you... Go ahead..

As you must be knowing that GATE or the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is conducted by the IITs for their Post Graduation Mtech courses.
Now, its a good thing that you are clear in your mind of what you have to do next in your career. But, you should not be in such a rush of things.
Look only those candidates are eligible to appear in the GATE exam who are either studying in the final or the pre final years or have completed their engineering.

At the present moment, you are only in the first year, hence you are not eligible now.

The reason to allow candidates to appear once they are in the pre final year is that, during the first three of engineering, a lot of course for GATE is covered in your curriculum, hence you will not have a lot of pressure to study separately for GATE apart from your regular academic curriculum.

Also, in first year, a student is too young to face tough competitions from senior candidates.

So relax and enjoy the first two years of your engineering life.
Later on you as it is have to enter the rat race to survive

No you are not eligible to be a part of GATE in first year. And it is not a good time to take part in GATE examination because in first year you dont have enough knowledge about your core subjects.
In first year you must prepare yourself in a particular field so that you can focus on that during your further years of engineering.
You can take suggestion about gate from your senior and other people so that you can move ahead and prepare for that in future.

Since you are a B.E.student for the earliest you can appear for GATE will be in your 3rd year as The minimum eligibility requirement for GATE is::
students in pre-final year of their graduation Degree.(BE/BTech)
You must understand that GATE includes papers from your engineering degree as well.
You will have to answer papers for the stream you choose to apply through.
so how can a first year student who is just into his course can answer those questions
since in first year you study general subjects like physics chemistry maths, english etc.
I suggest you to concentrate on your engineering degree and then if you want you can give GATE later in 3rd year or later as there is no age limit in GATE so no need to rush.

Hi,its a common question that most of the students do have in their mind whose are GATE ASPIRANTS.Well sorry to inform you that there is no provision to appear for the GATE exam in the first year itself.But you can appear for it from 3rd year onwards.But you can start your preparations from now on by starting to collect the syllabus first and then the materials.
Do refer gateforum.com for getting syllabus corresponding to your branch and then start preparing for the GATE.By the end of 2nd year,start collecting previous year question papers and try to solve it.So by doing these things i hope you could easily get through the exam.........Wishing you all the best

Hello...since you are a B.E student you can appear for GATE exam but only when you reach 3rd year or final year...You can only appear that time not now when you are in 1st year.As you are interested in sitting for GATE exam you can start preparation from now onwards and try to be attentive in the class also because the syllabus will be similar to your B.E syllabus...Its will be easy for you to write the exam and also you can prepare for some aptitude questions also for the exam...You can refer to books like G.K. Publication as it is having lots of solved question and also books like R.S.Agrawal and J.S.Sinha...
