i am a ece student third year,..how to prepare to get placed in core company.. please guide me regarding this

if you have the knowledge of programming languages like C,C++,Java,etc you can definately sit for selection tests when companies come for oncampus placements
but i would advise you against it as it may cause you trouble in the future due to your mechanical background

You are interested in getting placed in a core company.So you should first know what are all the various core companies available in India.
Some of them are
1.Texas Instruments
2.Verizon
3.Nokia Siemens
4.Huawei
5.Intel etc

So you should be familiar with Basic electronic concepts like Digital signal processor,
Integrated circuit,Architecture of various Microprocessor, Assembly language,
basic Instruction Set,some programming languages like cor c++.
