How to study Aeronautical Engineering after completing 12th?

I hav completed my 12th
I want to study aeronautical engineering.
its a very good course, but many are saying that this course has only little scope after my studies.
i think this course can lead me to IT companies. what is the real fact?

Aeronautical Engineering is definitely a good course but you are wrong about IT companies. Aeronautical Engineering has nothing to do with Information Technology.

Aeronautical Engineering is a branch of aerospace engineering. It deals in designing, maintaining and developing aircrafts like fighter jets and commerical aircrafts, helicopters etc. It is also associated with air turbine production. Aeronautical Engineers are also required for building missiles as well.

Now you can understand that it has absolutely nothing to do with IT sector. The scope for aeronautical engineering is quite bright. Although opportunities in India are certainly very limited. But there is a scope to work as Engineering in commercial airlines at the same time India's premier defence research organziation known as DRDO.

Eligibility

To pursue Aeronautical Engineering you will have to appear for engineering entrance exams. Some example are mentioned below:

BITSAT

IIT-JEE

UPSEE

ISEET

AIEEE

Out of these exams IIT-JEE and AIEEE would be scrapped from 2013. Instead they will be replaced by a single exam called ISEET. If you wish to pursue Aeronautical engineering from IITs or NITs then you will have to appear for ISEET entrance exam. Here are the details:

Eligibility

1. Must complete 12th with PCM as the subjects.

2. At least 40 percent marks in 12th board.

Job Prospect

There is a scope for aeronautical engineers in India. It perhaps may not be as good as for some other streams of Engineering but certainly enough to accomodate all the aeronautical engineering graduates. There are some very well paid jobs in this field. You also have the option to work in some foreign companies related to commercial aircrafts and defence. Some example are:

DRDO

HAL

Boeing

Civil Aviation Department

Aeronautical Development Establishment

National Aeronautical Lab

Hello Friend ,

To be an aeronautical engineer one should have a graduate degree (B.E/B.Tech.) or at least a diploma in Aeronautics. The degree and postgraduate degree courses are offered by the engineering colleges and Institutes of Technology (IITs), and the diploma courses are available at polytechnics.

The basic eligibility criteria for a BE / B.Tech is 10+2 or equivalent examination, with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and must have a fairly high percentage of marks in the aggregate 50% marks .

One must also pass the qualifying exam JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) conducted by the IIT's.

Duration : The duration is four years, ending with a degree recognized by the ministry of education, government of India.
The diploma courses are of 2-3 years duration.

Aeronautical Engineers work with one of the most technologically advanced branches of engineering. The main thrust in this area is on design and development of aircraft to space and satellite research.

Job opportunities for an Aeronautical Engineer in India, lies with various airlines like Air India, Indian Airlines, Helicopter Corporation of India and flying clubs, private airlines and government owned air service and aircraft manufacturers like the Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL) with its factories at Bangalore, Nashik, Koraput, Kanpur etc. Defense Research and Development Laboratories, National Aeronautical Lab (NAL), Aeronautical Development Establishment, Civil Aviation Department etc.

Lastly, Aeronautical Engineering has nothing to do with Information Technology. It is a separate branch ...

hi,

Aeronautical Engineering is a Challenging field that includes Desinging and manufacturing of Technological systems .It has got a good future because there is a continous growth in the Aviation sector in India .
There are many important exams which are conducted at National Level for Aeronautical engineering. Some of them includes AIEEE, IIT JEE...these are famous exams because they includes the top level colleges across the country. But Unfortunatelly if u couldnot clear these exams u need not wory because there are many private colleges which offer this degree.
Some of these includes:1.Indian Institute of Aeronautical Engineering Dehradun 2.Academy of aerospace and aviation Indore 3.Hindustan Institute of Technology Chennai 4.Hindustan Electronics acedemy Banglore 5.Indian Institute of Aeronautics Patna
I must say choice is goo go for it ..I wish u all the best

The basic eligibility criteria for a BE / B.Tech is 10+2 or equivalent examination, with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and must have a fairly high percentage of marks in the aggregate. One must also pass the qualifying exam JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) conducted by the IIT's.

Selection : Selection to the graduate courses ( BE / B.Tech ) is based on merit i.e the marks secured in the final exams of 10+2 and through entrance exams. Entrance to the IIT's is through 'JEE' (Joint Entrance Exam) and for other institutions through their own separate entrance exams and other state level and national level exams. Most of the institutes conducting engineering courses in Aeronautics consider JEE score as the qualifying grade.

There is also the Associate Membership Examination of the Institute of Engineers (AMIE), which enables working people in the private and public sector, or diploma holders to acquire a Bachelor's engineering degree through distance education by studying the syllabus and appearing for the Associate membership examination of the Institute of Engineers (AMIE) conducted by ASI ('The Aeronautical Society of India'). This degree is equivalent to aeronautical engineering degree. Those with a degree in electronics, mathematics or physics can also find opportunities in this area.

Some Institutes offer postgraduate (M Tech) and Doctoral (Ph D) programmes in Aeronautics. The Madras Institute of Technology offers a three year Graduate Programme in Aeronautical Engineering for B Sc students, subject to their having passed Maths and Physics at the graduation stage. The Indian Institute of Science (IIS), Bangalore has M Tech and Ph D programmes in aeronautics.

Duration : The duration is four years, ending with a degree recognised by the ministry of education, government of India. The diploma courses are of 2-3 years duration.

It's good that your interested in Aeronautical Engineering . If your really interested in technological field then Aerospace Engineering is good choice to develop your career in technological field .

If your aspiring to apply for Aeronautical Engineering after 12th standard then you may apply for B.E in Aeronautical Engineering . Bachelor of Aeronautical Engineering is an Bachelor degree and the duration of the course is for four years with practice training . The course is divided into eight semester .

There are so many reputed universities and Institution in India may offers this course . You have satisfy the eligibility criteria,

To apply for B.E in Aeronautical Engineering you should complete 12th standard in science stream from recognized university . You should score Minimum 60% percentage of marks . You should have mathematics and Physics as main subject in 12th standard . You should qualified in Entrance Examination ( ie :- AIEEE Examination / JEE Examination / BITSAT Examination )

The Admission for B.E in Aeronautical Engineering is based on the Merit list . So, If your score good percentage of marks in 12th standard and Entrance Examination then definitely you may get admission for B.E in Aeronautical Engineering in reputed college .

AIEEE stands for All India Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by CBSE ( Central Board of Secondary Education ) . It is an Entry level Examination courses . There are so reputed Engineering colleges in India may accepts this Entrance Examination score card .

To apply for this Examination you should complete 12th standard in science stream with Physics and Mathematics from recognized university . you should score minimum 50% percentage of marks . Final year candidate may also eligible to apply for this Examination . The Syllabus for AIEEE Examination consist of Physics , Mathematics and Chemistry .

If you want to crack this Examination then you should refer the all the question papers of AIEEE Examination and practice your self .You should find the weaker section and more concentrate on that . You may also get advice from who are expert in AIEEE Examination (or) the who are Already crack this Examination , then definitely you may crack the AIEEE Examination with good percentage of marks .

So, I suggest you to apply for in any of the entrance Examination and get good percentile of marks in Entrance Examination then definitely you may get admission in top Aeronautical Engineering colleges .
