Hi,

I am Sowmya from Bangalore. Had finished my MBA. And i would like to take up Teaching profession. Please guide which will be better course to the Teacher profession: Elementary Teacher Traing or Junior Basic Training. What are the pre-requisites for becoming a teacher apart from educational qualifications.

And also guide me on the education or training institutes for doing ETT Or JBT in Bangalore.

Kindly guide me in this regard.

Many people do MBA just for improving their work profile and salary. Its strange you want to go in teaching field after getting a professional degree like MBA but its not a bad option rather.

Now you need to know following things regarding it. If you want to teach at university level then MBA is not a teaching degree that will enable you for that. You need a PhD for it.

One thing that you can do is join any private MBA or CA college as an assistant teacher that you will get very easily and then go for BEd either by distance learning or regular your wish. After this degree you can serve as a teacher and you will be taken more seriously as a teacher and you can get the podt of lecturer in university.

After that you can continue your teaching with PhD. Once you will complete your PhD you will have a bright future in this field. You can work as a professor or you can even be a director of private MBA college.

ETT and JBT are not for you. Its not going to help you in this. So you should better think of BEd over them.

you have a master degree then you can chose your carrier in teaching. but the teachng is depends on the your gradution subject.if you are good in your core subject then teaching is best for this you can directly join the university as a assistant professor or for the goverment job you have to qualify the net exam

Since you have completed MBA, why don't you apply for college lectureship. There would be requirement of no addition course if you want to become lecturer in government college. It would be better than you apply for lecturer rather than school teacher.


For college lectureship you will have to apply for National Eligibility Test by the University Grants Commission. The NET exam is conducted two times in a year. Only after clearing NET exam you can get lecturer job in government college.


You can apply for the NET exam which will take place in June 2013. However you must wait for the official notification to be issued by the University Grants Commission. Only after that the forms to apply for NET will be released.


To apply for NET exam you should meet the following criteria.


Eligibility

1. You should be Indian citizen.

2. Post graduation degree in any discipline.

3. Minimum of 55 percent marks.

4. At least 50 percent marks are required for SC/ST.

5. Final year students can also apply.

6. There is no limit on number of attempts.



Age Limit

1. For JRF, the age limit is 28 years.

2. It is relaxed for 3 for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST.

3. There is no age limit for college lectureship.




If you are only interested in school teaching then pursue B.Ed course. After completing B.Ed you can apply for teaching job in private and government schools. You can appear for Teachers Eligibility Test to get government teaching job.

Soumya, you have to get a Ph.D. to be a full fledged professor. Also you must have heard that Ph.D. degree holders get increments better than just master degree. Since you are from MBA genre, it will not have been possible for you to go for school teaching. For school teaching it is best that you do M.Sc. or M.A. or M.Com. So right now go for part time teaching in any college. Along with this prepare yourself for Ph.D. degree. Join some university for part time MBA. You have many distance universities that offer Ph.D. degree in management. This you will be able to continue with your job. So all the best.

hiii i am Vallery I have completed my MBA in 2013 and Right now pursuing Job and I want switch to Teaching Field to which i have considered B.Ed but could'nt convert into action as it takes lot of time atleast 2 years . plz do reply me for primary teaching courses for primary schools so that i can apply as i hav already applied in various colleges directly on the basis of MBA but not accepted and i hav also considered Montessori Course training..plz reply course and diploma is good for me which can get me into teching field ASAP.

I am a qualified MBA with specialization in Finance from a reputed institution in Singapore.
I also have 6 years of experience in finance with various multinational financial institutions in India and UAE.
Due to personal circumstances, I am unable to devote long working hours (13 hours).
I would like to pursue a career in teaching at IB school in India.
What are the requisite qualifications (degrees / diplomas) for this job?
I am ready to devote a year to study for the requisite qualifications (preferably online).

I am an Mba in Finance (REGULAR) passout from a college affilated to PTU n have a 5 yrs of pvt sector banking experience too in Jalandhar. I had left my job 3 yrs back. Now I want a career in teaching but am confused as to whether I should go in for UGC NET Exam or B.ED/NTT/PTT Course as these courses are of 2 yrs now, and amongst these which one has the best scope and pay package. I am 33 yrs of age.

Please guide as to what I should opt for keeping the age limit in view and the qualification/experience.

I will not suggest you to do BEd after the MBA to become a teaching professional.

If you are interested in teaching then you may try to apply for UGC NET examination.

UGC NET is a national level exam which is conducted for the JRF award and lectureship at the university level also called the assistant professor.

After clearing the UGC NET Exam, you will be eligible to apply for the vacant seat of assistant professor in universities.

There is no age limit for lectureship while candidates can apply for the subject of there post-graduation.
