myself shilpi garg.
i m pursuing MCA from BANASTHALI UNIVERSITY.
after MCA my father wants tht i should do preparations for UGC-NET.
he doesn't prefer company jobs..
plz tell me..
which is best..
company jobs or lecturership..

Both the jobs are best in their own kind...you need to search yourself and explore which field you will b satisfied with your job...the best thing would be....join such a job...that has applications of what you have studied..in your ciriculum...

i think you have to follow your father's wish.

you will get better opportunities after doing UGC -NET.you can join any college after doing UGC -NET as a lecturer.

teaching is a very good career now a days.you can earn more money in teaching profession also.as you have heard that six pay commission has been implemented.

so the salary of government employee has been increased about two times.

so enjoy teaching profession.

i think both jobs r &thats depend on totally on ur decission.if u r interested in teaching profession then u may go for lecturership.and if u r interested in company. then there u can also go for that.for mca the big software companieslike
1.TCS.
2.INFOSYS.
3.IBM
4.MAHINDRA SATYM.etc r avalable.
so take decission &make ur future bright.

if you want to settle in relatively stress free job then teaching is better option

Both you and your father are right in your thoughts.
See,you want a good company job after doing MCA which has no guarantee of the future like you will be settled in that or not..

I am not at all telling that company jobs are totally unsecured..
But as he is your father he thinks about your secured future and only Govt jobs best can assure you that certainty of secured job.

And for a Govt job like a job as a professor,he wants you to appear in the UGC-NET exam.

Now if you don't want a Govt job,you yourself have to convince your father that what you want.

teaching is a novel profession . you will get also salary comparable to corporate sector as govt. has increased that.

for your father you should not join teaching profession rather you should choose your own path.

don't get confused first decide that in which line you want to go.

there are also many IT firms like TCS, INFOSYS, IBM and many more are recruiting students every year. so you have both the options.

you see, if you are interested to work with your field then you must do mtech after MCA.

specially if you want to do research oriented jobs,& Lecturership or Job then MTech is compulsary.

but if you are not interested to work in your engineering field, then it is essential to do MBA.

but one things you shoud remember, for getting promotion in company, MBA is essentially required.

if you are interested in Teachership,then you can go for Lectureship.
if you are interested in jobs in IT companies you can go,
there are so many companies TCS,CTS,Microsoft,INFOSYS,IBM,HCL etc...

As your father is suggesting that go for the teaching job.

so if you want to go for the teaching job,

then you have to give the NET exam after getting qualifying the exams,

you can go for the teaching line.

first of all ugc-net is very high profile exam in india and if you can succeed then you will get great opportunities.
But job is also valuable from economic point of view.

I am a chartered accountant but as a girl I have realized that nothing works for girls better than PHD.. it's a cool job which allows you to meet ur career aspirations and at the same time take care of your family. Even if ur husband is highly co-operative and allows you to take up a hectic job, it always gets very difficult after a kid as their school timings is never so much.

However, you can choose to delve into corporate sector initially, earn some good money and then decide when u actually need to - whether to get into a little relaxed corporate job or teaching sector. And who knows, you may get very nice in laws who are ready to look after your baby, while u work and earn.

Ultimately ur choice, ur priorities and ur risk appetite...

I will prefer to do a job in IT company, there are various oppertunities to grow,as it is a growing field

but if you are interested in teaching then you can get a good lecturership in any college.

I am doing MCA from IGNOU and doing PG diploma in Bio-informatics...... from last 6 year I am working as Technical Assistant in a eng. college. I want to get job as a lecturership in a good college.... I think to prepare about UGC NET and Gate exam..And and also want to do Ph.D in in cs from IGNOU . is that a right dicision for me to fulfill my goal....

Of course lecturership is better than private jobs. See in lecturership you will be busy only for half day or to say, only you have to give lecture and then you will be free whereas in company you have to work like a machine. In lecturership, lecturers are given their particular cabins but in company you have to be with all the staff. As a lecturer you will be most respectful person whereas in company no matter you are at which position, you would be always scolded by your boss.
If you have that caliber that you will be a very good lecturer i.e you can give lectures, you can control students, you will explain the things properly, etc then go for that otherwise not. Doing jobs in companies is also good, but if you can get more respect and money through your caliber then you should go for that.
Just decide truely and choose the right path. Because wrong decision may also affect you in future.

It depends on your interest in which you want to make your career.
job of lecturer is also good ,you can make good career in lectureship,and job in industries are great for making good career,If you want to do some real work related to industry than go for the companies job,if you are comfortable in teaching than go for teaching.

Lectureship Jobs is a noble job. where you can learn many things day to day.

and IT company jobs are corporate job.

where you can earn many a lot.

I will suggest you to go for a job in MNC company after MCA.

Because you have done MCA with great hard work , its not good to be a lecturer after completing MCA.

If you get a job in MNC company you will get a good salary whereareas in Lecturership you cant expect it. so in my opinion you can go for JOB.

AT THE END OF THE DAY its your wish ,i hope you will choose the right one.

First you examine which side you are intrested whther lecturer jobs or software jobs.

My suggestion is if you are fresher and you have 60% above better you try for software jobs.

Now so many software comapnies will looking for freshers including MCA also.

If you are not a fresher and no experience you will go for lecturer job
