Yes without M.B.B.S course you are not eligible for M.S in cardiology. After 12th it will take 9-10 year to become cardiologist. After 12th you have to do M.B.B.S which is of 5.5 year and then M.S in cardiology which is of 3 year. There are many top college offering this course like:- -A.I.I.M.S -J.I.P.M.E.R -A.F.M.C -MANIPAL UNIVERSITY etc ALL THE BEST! |

Yes. Obviously you have to complete MBBS to sit for M.S in cardiology to become a cardiologist. The time duration to complete MBBS degree is around 5 and a half year, and for M.S is 3 years. So to finally become a cardiologist it will take around 9 years. Wish you luck.

Re: Is it important to do MBBS after 12th to become cardiologist? Which are the courses and duration of the course?
In simple language cardiologist is known as heart specialist. The heart related issues are very complex in nature and not every doctor is trained to handle them. This is where cardiologist comes into picture.
Cardiologist is someone who is well trained to handle various heart issues. Cardiologist generally handles heart diseases that are serious in nature. These diseases are considered fatal in the nature, if not treated properly in time. The area of specialty for Cardiologist include: Electrophysiology Heart Failure Coronary Artery Disease Congenital Heart Defects Valvular Heart Disease The treatment offered by cardiologist starts with changing diet and lifestyle, medication and in extreme cases, he/she also performs surgery. Now to answer your question, it is mandatory to pursue MBBS to become cardiologist. MBBS is just the first step for candidates interested in becoming cardiologist. Eligibility 1. You need to complete 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Biology. 2. Then you must pursue MBBS. To do so, you will have to appear for NEET entrance exam. The duration of MBBS is 4 and a half year which is followed by 12 months long internship training. 3. After MBBS you will have to pursue MD which is 3 years long. 4. The final step would be course in DM in Cardiology. Once you complete this 3 years course, you will become cardiologist. |
