could u please give some information about job opportunities for cse students in gvt sector....

CSE students can try for a job in firms like CDIT or CDAC. They can join PSU like HPCL or BPCL by qualifying GATE. In banks, they can join as Specialist Officer. The profile of Junior Engineer in railways can be selected. In AAI, they can join as Junior Executive. Job profiles vary for degree and diploma holders in CSE. Degree holders can have better opportunities than diploma.

Computer Science Engineers are eligible for the Public Sector Undertaking jobs. However the Computer Science Engineers have very limited opportunities in the PSUs in comparison to branches like Mechanical or Electronics and Communications.

Still there are some good opportunities available for you in the Public Sector Undertaking. Since the PSUs are controlled by the government, these jobs are as good as any other government jobs.

There is even reservation for SC/ST and relaxation offered as per the government rules. You should apply for job in PSU but before you do please remember the following points.

1. There is no common entrance exam for PSU jobs. You must find notification of each company and apply.

2. Please read the notification very carefully and see whether there is vacancy for the Computer Science Engineers or not.

3. GATE score is important to apply. While som companies have written test, others prefer GATE score.

4. The GATE score should not be more than 2 years old. Otherwise it won't be accepted and you will have to reappear for it.


PSU Eligibility

1. Nationality: PSU jobs are for only Indians to apply.

2. Education: B.Tech or B.E. degree will be accepted.

3. Marks: You should have 60 percent in Engineering.

4. A valid GATE score is also required.

5. Before applying, please clear all pending backlogs.

6. Age Limit: 21 on the lower side while 30 on the upper.

7. Relaxation: You will get 3 years if belongs to OBC category.

8. 5 years relaxation if candidate belongs to SC or ST.
