This entry is only for engineering graduates:

Engineers : 57 posts (Civil-11, Electrical-8, Mechanical-8, Computer Science-5, Telecom-10, Electronics-06, IT-4, Production-3, Architecture-1, Food Tech./ Bio-Tech. – 1)

The indian army also requires civil engineers.For joing the indian army you can join directly through university scheme,for this there is no written exam,they will call you up for the SSB interview if you apply for the application,after clearing this you can join Indian Army.

To join in Indian Army being a Civil Engineer is a way as you can write the CDS Exam

CDS is known as Combined Defence Service

This exam is conducted as CDS I and CDS II.

This exam is conducted for candidates to join in:

• Indian Military Academy
• Indian Navy
• Indian Air Force
• Officer Training Academy

Being a Civil Engineer you need to satisfy the various criteria's framed for the exam as it decides whether you are eligible to apply for the exam or not



Eligibility For CDS:

> Candidate need to be a citizen of India

> Unmarried male candidate are only eligible for the exam

> For Indian Military Academy the candidate need to have 19-24 years i.e candidate should have born not earlier than 2nd July,1986 and not later than 1st July,1992 only are eligible.

> Education qualification for the CDS Exam is that the candidate must have completed a degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

> The candidate need to be physically fit while appearing for the exam as it is very important

You are satisfying the education qualification needed for the exam,but that is not enough as you need to satisfy all other criteria's

The Civil Engineers can be joined Indian Army through CDS.

CDS-COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE exam conducted by UPSC twice every year as CDS-I and CDS-II for entry in to:-

Indian Military Academy
Indian Naval Academy

Indian Officer's Training Academy

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any discipline from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 25 years, is eligible to apply for CDS.

As you are a Civil Engineer and interested for Indian Army, You can apply for Indian Military Academy through CDSE for which you should be within 19 to 24 years of age with good physical health.
