For Polymer and Plastic Engineers there are many job opportunities in the public sector, private sector and also in research and development field. They will get jobs as plastics engineers, technicians and as technologists. The public sectors which they can apply for are, The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. Oil and Natural Gas Commission, Oil India Laboratories, Petrochemicals Engineering Plants, Indian Institute of Petroleum, Polymers Corporations of different states and many more. As polymer industry is a rapidly growing sector, those with knowledge and understanding of a broad range of principles and technologies of manufacture of products from polymer is required. This has increased the demand for qualified personnel in this field.

We all are aware of the fact that Polymer plays a vital role in our lives because of its uniqueness in properties and extended application in industries, packaging, sports, medicine, perfumes and preservatives, plastics, fuels, toys etc.

So,there are number of opportunities for polymer and plastic engineers in polymer manufacturing industries as production engineers or technologists, quality control inspectors, polymer specialists, marketing executives.
Number of private companies, including MNCs that deal with the production and marketing of plastic commodities too provides number of opportunities.

There is good scope abroad with various MNcs requiring qualified polymer and plastic engineers,especially for their research departments.

It is very much true that this field of engineering is lesser known than the other field of engineerings.But regardless of the fact there are equally good opportunities for polymer and plastic engineers too.
