Are there lateral entry for diploma holders in iit & aieee for b.tech?sir i hv just completed my 3 years diploma of plastics mould technology in cipet. in which branch i will get admission?I will be ever greatful if u help me,plz..........

no friend...you dont have any entrance for lateral entry in to iits and nits....

to the best of my knowledge IIT or AIEEE doesnt offer lateral entry programme . so you cant take admission (lateral). try in other collages ,there are so many good colleges also.

Diploma engineers having 60% aggregate including all semesters are well eligible to appeaer for Iboth IITJEE and AIEEE, but there are not allowed to take admissin\on in 2nd year of B.Tech

IIT's
NIT's
Universities of National Importance (For example:- DCE)
Some Deemed Universities (For example:- BITS)

They all doesn't have lateral entry scheme. HRD Ministry and Institutes Authorities itself has restricted it. Various time Proposals are made to HRD Mnistry but was rejected on the ground that it will effect the Quality and Brand of such institutes.

So, even if a diploma hgolder is taking admission he/she will be provided admission into first year of B.Tech.

you ain't eligible for admissions in IIT or in ANY NIT'S because no IIT and NIT's OFFER later entry.
but if you can give AIEEE AND IIT exams after your diploma or final year of diploma .

sorry friend,although there is no lateral entry programme in iit,nit but u have the power to appear aieee,iit entrance after a three years diploma course,so that u can take admission from 1st year.mind that a diploma student have any time more technical knowledge than a intermidiate student.

There is no lateral entry in IITs or any NITs.If you want to do B.Tech through IIT or AIEEE then you need yo start from 1st year.

Sorry friend,There is no lateral entry through IIT ot AIEEE.You need to start from 1st year.

I am sorry to say but IITs & AIEEE does not admit students in the 2nd year of their Btech course through lateral entry scheme.

But don't loose heart there are other well known engineering colleges which give admission to diploma holders through lateral entry scheme. Some of them admit students directly on merit basis while others conduct entrance exam for this purpose.

Some of the institutes offering btech course through lateral entry scheme are:
chaitanya bharathi institute of technology
andhra university
Government College of Engineering – Bargur
Bharathiar Centenary Memorial Govt

there are no lateral entry scheme in IIT directly into second year. if you want to take admission in IIT after your diploma then you have to appear in IIT JEE.

after that you have to secure a good position in IIT and then you will be eligible to take admission in IIT.

but you may try for lateral entry in other good institution. then you will be able to take admission directly into second year and one year will be saved for you.

choose the best option for you.

well kalita,

you can't persue B.TECH degree or any other degree in IIT's and NIT's through LATERAL ENTRY PROCEDURE.

because there's no entry as such for now.

and you have completed your diploma course right.

so even you can give AIEEE AND IIT exam to get into any IIT's AND NIT's

there is no procedure as if now by which you can go for B.Tech by lateral entry after diploma in IIT and NIT but there are other colleges also i which you can apply for lateral entry

there is no lateral entry in iit or aieee exam.
if you want to take admission in iit or nit college, then you will have to give the entrance exam like a 12th class passed student.

IIT's and NIT's donot allow students from diploma background to apply for their examination. These colleges do not have any lateral entry scheme.

But don't be disheartened because other good colleges are there in which you can take admission.

when you complete the 3rd year of your diploma then you can give the iitjee or the aieee exam.

through these entrance exam you will get admission in the colleges under the aieee or iitjee.

you can get admission in the nit's or in the iit's after scoring the descent ranks in these entrance exams

There is no scheme for lateral entry in IIT or AIEEE or universities of national importance.
So if you want B.Tech degree from IIT ,NIT you can give the entrance exam for IIT jee & AIEEE and get high score with high rank. You can apply for these when you complete your final year of diploma.you require minimum 60% each semester for IIT JEE.
Admission is taken in first year itself even for diploma holders to maIntain brand and importance of these colleges.
Though you can try for many other colleges that are good enough and offer a lateral entry.

But i thing its worth the brand you get IIT & NIT.
Lastly you need to decide yourself what you want.
