i want to know that lateral admission for diploma holder is possible in AIEEE and the entrance test will also different for lateral entry.......

dear (AIEE) is All India Engineering Entrance Examination which is organized by Central Board of Secondary Education wile the (LEET)lateral admission for diploma holder is organized by STATE BOARD OF TECHNICAL EDUCATION hence both are different.

srry there is no such availability of seats in aieee ...the candidates who wanted to stdy in the top mosted nit colleges , they should give the aieee exam .... and there is no any other lateral exam for diplomatic students for entering directly into the 2nd year ......
better you can try the seat in top colleges at your area ..there may be a possibilty for lateral entry ...

i want to know that lateral admission for diploma holder is possible in AIEEE and the entrance test will also different for lateral entry.

Dear pal,
AIEEE exam is conducted for admitting the aspirants to the engineering degree in top institutions in India.
The eligibility for appearing in the exam includes
1. The aspirant should have passed 10+2 exam either from state board or central board
2. The aspirant should have chosen mathematics, physics,and chemistry as their higher secondary subjects.
3. The aspirant can attempt the exam for 3 times only.
4. Diploma holder with diploma from a recognised university can also apply.
By applying for this the diploma holder will be admitted to the first year of the engineering course and not to second years that is there is no lateral admission through the exam
diploma aspirants are admitted by means of lateral entry conducted by the state government. The admission is based on entrance exam or by the counselling which is based on the marks in diploma. There is no national level counseling for admitting the diploma aspirants. One can get through the state counselling. In many states counselling is based on the marks in diploma so do well in your diploma course

is it true that there is no common entrance test for diploma holders to join to BE

sir, i had done diploma (kolkata) in Information Technology. now i want admission in b tech (Delhi). pls tell me about entrance exam held for admission in b tech lateral entry or direct admission.

Unfortunately the answer is no. The AIEEE exam has no provision for lateral entry candidates. It is only conducted for the students who have completed Class 12th with PCM as the subjects. Since diploma is done after 10th you are not eligible for AIEEE entrance exam.


You must know that AIEEE will not be conducted for 2013. It will get replaced by the ISEET exam but that too has no provision for the diploma students. You can not seek lateral entry admission through ISEET exam as well.


The procedure of admission through lateral entry scheme is completely different. You need to appear for Lateral Entry Engineering Test. This test is specifically for the diploma students who want admission through lateral entry.


Several colleges that reserve some seats for lateral entry students offer them through Lateral Entry Engineering Test. Therefore this is the correct exam for you to apply. Only after clearing LEET entrance exam you can take admission into the second year of B.Tech course.


However not all engineering colleges accept admission through LEET. Firstly there are IITs and NITs that will not accept diploma student at all. Then there are other universities that do accept diploma students but not through LEET entrance exam.



They accept them either by conducting their own entrance exam or the admission is purely given on the merit.

The polytechnic degree is meant equivalent to the 12th board level examination.So you are eligible to apply for AIEEE examination.
