If you are interested in doing engineering and you have not got admission in a reputed college then taking a drop is desirable....Else if you plan to do MBA later on in your career then you can take admission in B com and start preparing for MBA competitive exam right away and by the time you reach a stage wherein you need to appear for MBA entrance exams you will be fully prepared.....

Re: Which Line Should i choose after 12 as i have done non medical?
Hello friend,
At this time, it totally depends on your own decision what way you would like to go. There are two options for you. Either you choose other courses rather than engineering and be admitted in an institute, or you can decide to drop a year and prepare yourself for the next year entrance exams fully. You can make your career with studying BCA, B.Sc(hons) etc. After that you can complete the masters degree. If you have intensions to make your career in engineering line, i would suggest you to drop a year and study rigorously for competitive exams like AIEEE/IIT-JEE and other exams to be admitted in reputed institutes. Now, it is upto you, which option to choose! Best of luck! |

Re: Which Line Should i choose after 12 as i have done non medical?
Dear friend
Congratulation ! To scored good marks in 12th. If you dont get admission in B.tech in a good colleges, then dont worry just work hard and again appear the entrance exams next year. If you have a time then please join coaching centre in this year and prepared for entrance exams and next year again appear in entrance exams. If you have scored good marks in entrance exams like AIEEE, IIT- JEE then definately you will get admission next year in good colleges. But, you have also go for another field, because you have get good marks in your 12th exams. Then i think you can go for BCA, if you want to make your career in the field of computer then BCA is best option for you and after completing your BCA, if you do MCA then you will definately get a good jobs in future. So, just choose according to your choice, there are manny option are availiable for you after completing 12th............ |

If you really want to take admission for B.Tech course then i will suggest you that you should drop a year . but the main thing that you should have to kept in mind that you should take the coaching for that if you want best college. without guidance you can't clear the examination like aieee or iit .

Re: Which Line Should i choose after 12 as i have done non medical?
no dear ,
there is no need to change your stream and also you can't do so .. you can't opt for medical now as you was not having biology in +2 but don't get dishearten as you are satisfying the eligibility criteria's for appearing in various entrance exams ... IIT-JEE : this test is conducted every year in the second week of april for which the deadlines for the submission of application form are in the month of december past year .. You can appear for it next year by being properly coached by institutes such as Bansal classes , resonance . FIITJEE , or which ever is present near to you but it must have brilliant past records along with highly qualified faculty at present .. AIEEE : every year this exam is conducted in the last week of april for admitting the students all over the india for BTech/BArch courses .. you need to have coaching for it as well for getting a good college .. STATE PET's : Entrance exam conducted for admitting students to colleges present in respective states .. But as these all exams have been conducted this year so you need to have a drop of year but that will benefit you if you are able to study well for next one year .. If you don't want to have a drop than go for courses which are opened yet and also no entrance test is required for them in some colleges . ::Such courses are :: -Animation and graphics -hotel management But if you wan't to get admission in very good and reputed colleges than you need to fight for the entrance test whichever is the course , so i think that dropping a year will be good for you ... you are also having an option to go for MBA for which you just need to graduate with atleast 55% and than go for CAT , MAT , XAT or after graduation you can also go for civil services .. So if you are not having a zeal to be an engineer than you must go for any one of the two options specified above ... All the best for whatever you do ...!!! |

Re: Which Line Should i choose after 12 as i have done non medical?
See dropping should be only considered if you think that you can do it if you get another chance.
I wont receommend you to drop a year since its risky to do so. You didnt mention your line of interest Do you really have interest in engineering field. If yes then you can go for engineering now itself. If you didnt clear entrance exams dont worry there are many colleges which take on low scores too. Or you may even try your state entrance exam If that is not an option then best will be join polytechnic course for 3 years after that you can get direct admission to 2nd year to BTech courses in well reputed college Another option is that you can decide to leave engg field and instead do some pure science or BCA or BBA courses which have good opportunities But at the end the only thing matters is which is your area of interest. So on that basis choose the best for you |

Quote:
Please dont be so hopeless. Many students dont get admission in reputed college but at this time its you to decide your future. Please dont drop your year because this step take you a year back and negative points for your acdemic record. There are many good colleges which take your marks and give you direct admission. You have to choose only that college. Or even you want to change your field then its simple there is no problem with changing your field. If you have interest in some other fieldd then do graduation in that field and after that Give exam of CAT, MAT.. You can also prepare for civil services after your graduation. So, dont worry there are many other fields too in which you can prove yourself better than engineering. But you have to do only one thing that ask your self, dont listen to any budy and without any tension take your own decision. you can do much better in any field. Good luck |

You had scored good percentage in your 12th with that good score you can apply for any degree course you choose whether it is Engineering or any other. First of all you should know "where your real interest is?" then next step "what is your aim?". Basing on these two criteria you choose which field you should opt. Don't worry that you didn't get a good score in the competitive exams what you had written. If your aim is to go for Engineering then prepare for the exams like IIT-JEE/AIEEE/other state entrance tests, don't think you are wasting your year, give the competitive exam a nice shot so that you can study in IIT's. If you didn't opt for engineering courses then choose BCA, BBA, DRDO, NDA etc.,. So the option is yours. What ever you choose choose it wisely, and all the best for your future. |

Re: Which Line Should i choose after 12 as i have done non medical?
Hello,
70% in HS level is a good percentage, and with that you can choose most of the career options available for a science student. As you say you are not a medical student, so we have a lot of options in the non medical line. You can go for engineering, details of which has already been provided above. But you need to work hard if you drop a year. So if you are interested in the technical line, so i suggest you to work hard, and if you are ready to work hard, then only you may drop a year, otherwise it is a waste. else you have other options such as BCA and later MCA or MBA. Also, you can go for BBA+MBA, then you can opt for BSc+MSc+PHd or MTech with the same. Nowadays the course of company secretaryship and chartered accountant too is becoming popular with a lot of scope. Good Luck! |

HI!
After 12 one can pursue a career in diverse fields. If you have not succeed in getting admission in some of the top engineering colleges in India don’t loose heart. If you wish you can opt some other courses in different fields like: In management field you can pursue BBA If you like working with computers you can pursue BCA If you are interested to join hotels & restaurants in future you can study BHM Apart from these degree courses you can also pursue a no. of diploma courses in your area of interest. However, if you are interested to pursue a career in engineering only & have confidence in yourself then it will be wise decision to drop a year. |

no you can't go for IAS after +2. first you have to do graduation in some stream. after +2 in non medical I would suggest to to take up engg. entrance examinations. If you get through IIT JEE, or get a rank within 20,000 in AIEEE then surely go for a B.Tech degree. In case you don't get through them and have some good(85-90%) in 12th boards try some good BSC. in Delhi University. |
