I secured AIR 268 in GATE EE-2012. I prepared through following books
1. Electrical Machines- Nagrath & Kothari
2. Electric Circuit- Hayt
3. Power Systems- Nagrath & Kothari, stevson(difficult to read)
4. Electrical Measurements- Rajendra Prasad, Kalsi
5. Power Electronics – Khanchandani,
6. Signals and Systems- Simon Haykins
7. Control Systems- Norman S. Nise, B. S. Manke
Tips: After reading quite well through standard texts books, practice as much problem as you can. For practicing you can follow any MCQ books available in the market. I followed GATE MCQ for EE by RK Kanodia and Ashish Murolia.
If you have time, then solve previous year Gate papers also. It will boost up your confidence level.
