The Chief Guest A. D. Sawant (University of Mumbai) in his talk emphasized the need for building up infrastructure for development of marine biotechnology and stressed the need for application of research at college and university level.

I dont think you are eligible for M.sc (Microbiology).That because e;igibility criteria says the candidate must have passed the B.Sc. in Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Zoology and B.Sc. Botany / Chemistry / Physics with any one ancillary subjects of Microbilogy / Zoology / Botany with at least 55% aggregate.This is the minimum eligibility criteria for any Good Institute in India.

Admission process varies from institute to institute.Different institute conducts different entrance for it.There is no common entrance for the purpose.

For example:-

IIT's : Admission is based on valid IITJAM scores.
University of Pune: conducts its own entrance.
Jawaharlal Nehru Universuty:conducts its own entrance.
Osmania University:conducts its own entrance.
Amity University: Also offeres direct admission to meritorious students with weak financial background.

Job oppurtunity lies both in onshore and Offshore.In Labs, Oceans, Ships etc.Most microbiologists spend their time in laboratories conducting research and in offices writing up results and keeping up with the latest research discoveries.
