There is no special category for Microbiology, but I as far as I think, it should come under the category of Environmental sciences. Subject code for Environmental science is '89'. But please confirm its category before applying.

The NET in Major Science Subjects, viz., Chemical Sciences; Earth Atmospheric Ocean & Planetary Sciences; Life Sciences; Mathematical Sciences and Physical Sciences is conducted jointly with the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi.
