What is the minimum age for navy
i want to join navy.

The minimum age with which a candidate can join Navy is 16 1/2 years.

The minimum academic qualification required to join Navy is by having 12th class from a recognized board. In addition, the candidate should have to complete 12th class with Mathematics and Physics as the compulsory subjects.

The required exam to appear for with this eligibility criteria is by NDA Exam.

One can join into following defence services
-Army wing
-Naval wing
-Air Force wing by cracking this exam.

This age criteria will be same for the candidates of all categories.

You did not mention your highest level of academic qualificaton. If you fulfill the above required criteria for NDA Exam, you can appear for upcoming NDA Exam which is going to be conducted in the next academic year by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission).

Here I am providing you the important dates of this exam.

-Date of commencement of notification : 31-12-2011
-Last date for the receipt of completed application forms : 30-01-2012
-Date of NDA I Exam : 15-04-2012.

NDA - Stands for National Defence Academy


This examination is conducted by the Union public service commission (UPSC) twice in a year.

As my knowledge there are some basic and important eligibility criteria are described below-

AGE: - Your age should be in between 16.5 to 19 years.

NOTE: - Only unmarried males are eligible.

Educational Qualification : - candidates must passed 10+12th with Physics and Maths and have to minimal 60% in 10th.

NOTE : - Candidates must be physically and medically fit for the NDA test.

EXAM PATTERN

To get in to Indian Navy you have to crack NDA(National Defence Academy) exam conducted by UPSC twice every year as NDA-I and NDA-II.

The minimum age to get into Indian Navy is 16.5 years and the maximum age is 19 years.

Minimum 12th standard pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics is required to appear for NDA- Navy wing.

You have to be 16.5 to 19 years of age to apply for the indian navy...

There are two ways join Indian Navy.
>>N.D.A
>>C.D.S

Both the exam is conducted by U.P.S.C twice in a year.

Eligibility criteria for N.D.A:-
> Pass12TH with any subject from recognized university
> Age limit:-16.5-19 year
> Medically fit

Eligibility criteria C.D.S:-
> Pass GRADUATION OR B.TECH with any subject from recognized university
> Age limit:-16.5-19 year
> Medically fit

How To Join the Indian Navy

You can join the Indian Navy by just clearing any of the following 2 exams based on your qualifications and age limit..

NDA(National Defence Academy) if you have passed out your 12th

CDS (Combined Defence Services) if you are a graduate..


For appearing in the NDA exam..you need to fulfill the following minimum conditions :-

1) You should have passed out your 12th with Physics,Chemistry and Maths as your subjects in 12th..

2) You should be within the age limit of 16.5-19 years


For appearing in the CDS exam..you need to have the following minimum conditions..

1) You should be a graduate or a final year graduation student from a recognized University..

2) You should be within the age limit of 19-22 years for joining the Indian Naval Academy

For Indian Air Force/Indian Navy Academy:You should have complete 12th class with PCM stream from a recognized university.
For Indian Army Academy:You should have complete 12th class with any stream from a recognized university.
Age Limit:
And your age should be between 16 1/2 to 19 years.

Eligibility criteria for CDS exam:
Educational Qualifications:
For Indian Army Academy : You should have a degree from a recognized University or equivalent.
For Indian Navy Academy: You should have complete B.Sc. with Physics and/or Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering.
For Indian Air Force Academy: You should have complete B.Sc. of a recognized University or equivalent with Physics and/or Mathematics as subjects or Bachelor of Engineering.
Age limit:
For Indian Army Academy(Unmarried male):Your age should be between 19-24 years For Indian Navy Academy (Unmarried male):Your age should be betweeb 19-22 years

hi i am vivek, this year i cleared both the written and ssb test but my rank is not much good, it is 527 for army/navy and 508 for naval academy..Is there chances of mine to get the call letter for either NDA or NAVAL ACADEMY for the course commencing in jan 2012.

below i am giving eligibility criteria to apply for navy/NDA which may be helpful for you.

Eligibility Criteria for NDA is 12th Class / Equivalent passed certificate conducted by State Board / Universities. Candidate appearing can also apply.
Age limit 16.5 to 19 years


A candidate has to go through three stages :

Written examination conducted by UPSC
Interview by SSB to test officer potentialities
Medical Test by a Service Medical Board.

Scheme of the Examination
Papers will be objective type. Medium of examination is English only.

Syllabus for Entrance Examination
Paper I - Mathematics : (Maximum Marks 300)
Arithmetic, Mensuration, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics.
Paper II - General Ability
Part A - English (Maximum Marks 200)
Part B - General Knowledge (Maximum Marks 400)

APPLICATION FORM are published by the UPSC at interval of six months, i.e. April / May and October / November in all the local newspapers and Employment News.

The Minimum age required to get into Indian Navy is 16 1/2. To get into Indian Navy you must clear an exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission commonly called as UPSC. The exam conducted is named as NDA exam which can be expanded as National Defense Academy exam. To appear in that exam your age must be above 16 1/2(That is why this is minimum age) and below
19 years. You also must have passed your 12th std in a recognized school. More over, as you want to join in Navy you must have chosen science as stream in 11th and 12th i.e. you must have physics and maths as one of the major subjects.

Other wise you can join in Navy through another exam named as CDSE, conducted by the same UPSC for which you must have finished your graduation in science stream. After clearing this exam you can enter into Indian Navy as an higher rank official itself.

yes, you can apply for NDA 2012.The NDA I exam will be on 15 april.

After 12th or after graduation you can join Indian Navy.See you have to take information from different newspapers and websites when the vacancies of Navy will come and according to this you can apply.
You can also apply for NDA. There generally two examination are held for NDA, one is NDA-1 and another is NDA-2.You can also attempt both this two exam.

The Minimum Age Required to Get into INDIAN NAVY is 18 years.
