Re: Minimum CGPA required for GATE?
I think its 8.5/10 CGPA or 75% along with 600+ Gate score for getting shortlisted for Direct Admission, while for selection through Interview it is 6.7/10 or 60% along with 550+ Gate score for being get admission through interview.

Re: Minimum CGPA required for GATE?
dear friend
If you are interested to get admission in IIT, then for this you have to scored CGPA 6.75 on a 10 point scale or 60% marks in aggregate for general category with +300 GATE score. The selection is based on written test and interview, if you have clear the test and interview, then you will get admission in IIT. And if you want a direct admission then you have to get very high GATE score along with CGPA of 8.5 or 75% marks in your B.tech degree. |

for GATE exam , you must be completed your graduation with 60% marks. if we convert the 60% marks to cgpa , then the CGPA marks is 6.75. maximum college cant consider graduation marks , just they consider only GATE score for admission in m-tech course. all the best. |

Re: Minimum CGPA required for GATE?
GATE exam is conducted by the IIT's to select students for the Mtech courses in the IIT's and other colleges .All those students who are interested in doing the Mtech program can apply for the course is they have done their Btech .Many good colleges also see the GATE rank for admission in their colleges in the Mtech course .The examination is done every year .
Eligibility for the examination :: You must have completed your 4 year engineering degree in any streams to be eligible for the exam. There is no minimum percentage required for appearing for the GATE exam but some colleges might put some criteria for giving the admission . The students who have completed their MSC in computer subjects or science or statics are also eligible for the exam. You can apply for the GATE exam at any years .There is no limit the number of times you can appear for the exam. Pre final year students are also eligible for the exam.Which means a students who are in third year are eligible for the exam. GATE score is valid for 2 years and you can use the 2 year old score at any time in this period . So it means that for appearing for the GATE exam there is no CGPA required its open for all who has cleared the exam. GATE exam pattern :: The question paper will be for a total of 150 marks divided into three groups and these groups are divided according to the marks of the question . |

Re: Minimum CGPA required for GATE?
Candidates should have completed their Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology or Master's degree (M.Sc) in any relevant science subject or must be in the final year of the programme. While applying for GATE 2019, there is no minimum pass percentage in the qualifying degree.

Re: Minimum CGPA required for GATE?
There is no minimum CGPA required to attempt GATE.
If you qualify and apply for admission in masters program in any institute, then you must fulfill the CGPA/percentage criteria for that institute. As far as I can recall, it is not more than 60% or CGPA 6 in any IIT. IIT Delhi enforces 60% for general and 55% for OBC students. Most IITs just require a pass. |
