Indian Police Service entrance exam is conducted by the union public service commission under the civil services examination every year once.. There are some criteria you have to follow for appearing in IPS exam.

Those candidate have completed graduation in any discipline from recognized university are eligible for IPS exam.This exam not require any kind of percentage marks in graduation degree .

But your age should be in between 21-30years for general candidate.
In IPS exam their is provide age relaxation for OBC candidate is 3years and for SC/ST candidate is 5 years.

The maximum attempts for Sc/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.
Also you must be citizen of India.

Physical Requirements :

I have listed here the physical criteria if you have Qualify in written exam then they arrange the physical test , so beware about the requirement also .

IPS stands for Indian Police Service.
Any graduate from recognized university can appear for this exam.Even final year students may apply.
Here are a few points you should know

Age Limit:-
General- 21yrs. 30 yrs.
obc - 21 yrs 33 yrs.
sc/st - 21 yrs. 35 yrs.

Physical Fitness:-
Height -
Male 165 cm Pahari Male (general also) & ST (not the SC/ OBC) - 160 cm
Female 150 cm Pahari Female (general also) & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm

Chest -
Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm.
Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm.

Eye sight - 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye.

Physical Eligibility for IPS are:

Height: Minimum height for men and women is fixed at 165 cm and 150 cm. The requirement of minimum height is same for General, OBC, and SC categories aspirants. However, there is some relaxation of 5 cm for both men and women in case of them belonging to ST, and some particular races like Assamese, Gorkhas, Garhwalias, etc.

Aspirants must have high grade color vision and binocular vision.

Chest Girth expandable: Men - 84 cm, Women - 79 cm.

Spectacles are allowed and All joints should show perfect motion.

IPS is a post that demands on filed duty any time and for any hour in any part of the country so physical fitness is most important in this field. It is the criteria which is strictly followed due to which many candidates get rejected in physical after qualifying the written.

Physical requirement for IPS is as under:

1. Height - Male 165 cm Male (general) & ST (not the SC/ OBC) - 160 cm
   Female 150 cm Female (general) & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm
   
2. Chest - Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm.
   Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm.
   
3. Eye sight - 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision.Near vision J 1.The correction is by lenses only.No inherent night blindness. Vision should stereoscopic.
   
4. Blood pressure (High) - Age 23 - 123, age 24 - 124, age 25 -122, age 28 - 124, age 30 -125, age 32 - 126, age 34 - 127.
   
5. Ladies should not be pregnant at the time of Medical Test.
   
6. Ear- good listening & normal ear cavity. 1000 to 4000 frequency hearing impairment shd not be more than 30 decibels.
   
7. Nasal- candidate should not stammer while speaking.
