In order to be eligible for IAS Exam, a pass in Graduation with any of the stream is enough. There is no percentage criteria in Graduation for the candidate to be eligible for this exam.
In addition, the candidates in the final year of Graduation itself is eligible to appear for IAS Entrance Exam. To be more clear, its not an IAS Exam but it is a civil services examination which will be the common exam which the candidates have to apepar for in order to be placed in various civil services like -IAS -IPS -IRS etc. The selection procedure will also be the same for the candidates to be placed in any of the civil services which is by -Civil Services Aptitude Test -Civil Services Main Examination -Interview As a part of age criteria, you should possess an age between 21-30 years to be eligible for this exam. Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category and upto 5 years for the candidates of SC/ST category. This exam is being conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year. If you are interested and if you fulfill the eligibility criteria, you can appear for upcoming CSAT Exam which is going to be conducted on 20-05-2012. Yes your elegibile to write IAS exam there is no need for the cut off marks.
Educational Qualifications : Graduates in any discipline from a recognised university. Candidates having professional and technical qualifications recognised by the government are also eligible. Those who have appeared in the final year but do not have the result can also apply but they would have to produce proof of passing the exam with their application for the Main Exam. Nationality : For the Indian Administrative Service and the Indian Police Service, a candidate must be a citizen of India For other services, a candidate must be either : (a) a citizen of India, or (b) a subject of Nepal, or (c) a subject of Bhutan, or (d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India with the intention of permanently settling in India. or (e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Srilanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. These candidates will not be eligible for appointment to the Indian Foreign Service. Age Limits : Candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on the 1st August of the year in which examination is being held. The upper age limit may be relaxed in respect of the SC/ST and other backward classes. Personal Attributes : The aspiring candidates are expected to have keen interest in the General Studies and are supposed to have a good amount of interest in current affairs. Regular and detailed reading of a good national newspaper, a standard competition magazine and a basic book on general knowledge is the essential pre-requisite. Another important point is efficient time planning. Physical Standards : Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Civil Services Examination. Reservation will be made for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and Physically disabled categories in respect of vacancies as may be fixed by the Government. |

To become a IAS,you should appear for Civil Service exam.This exam is conducted by UPSC every year once.
Eligibility criteria for Civil service exam: Education qualification: You should have complete minimum graduation degree with any stream from a recognized university and should have 50% marks. Age Limit: And your age should be between 21 to 30 years. Civil Service exam consist of >>Preliminary Exam >>Main Exam Preliminary exam notification release in the month of Feb and exam will held on May every year. After clearing the Preliminary Exam,then you can appear for Main exam. Main exam will held on Oct month every year. If you fulfill with criteria,then you can appear for civil service exam. Preliminary exam application form issues from 4th Feb 2012 to 5th March 2012. And exam will held on 20th May 2012. Main exam will held on 15th Oct 2012. To appear in IAS exam all you need is you just have to complete your graduation in any trade from a recognized university.. There is no such percentage criteria is mentioned in the eligibility criteria of IAS exam.. So, don't worry you just complete your graduation , and then go for IAS exam.. All the best. |

What is the advantages and disadvantages of distance education(UG) without regular ug, and will we appear all government exams, and somebody telling like that we are not go to huge company, is it?
