To get admission in the IIT colleges for the course of Aeronautical course you have to apply for the The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). This exam is conducted by the IIT every year. The eligibility criteria required for this entrance examination is given below:

Education Qualification
For the IIT JEE exam candidate should be 10+2 pass and should have physics and maths at 10+2 in any discipline. Those appeared in the 10+2 examination are also eligible to apply for the IIT JEE examination.
It should be note that a candidate can apply for this examination only in two consecutive years from the date of passing 10+2 exam.

Exam Pattern
In the IIT JEE exam following subjects are asked by the candidates
> Chemistry

> Mathematics

> Physics

There is a procedure of negative marking in this examination. For every incorrect answer 1/3 marks are deducted.

How to apply?
A candidate can apply for the IIT JEE exam either online or offline. The forms can be obtained from the branches of the UNION Bank. A candidate has to pay Rs 1000 for the application form.
Candidates who are from reserve category will have to pay only Rs. 500

INFORMATION ABOUT THE INDIAN INSTITUTES OF TECHNOLOGY !!!

INTRODUCTION

IIT is the Indian Institute of Technology which is the technical college chain in India. There are total 13 IIT's in India. The oldest and the best ones being in Kharagpur, Mumbai, Kanpur, Delhi, Madras, Guwahati, Roorkee, Ropar, Bhubaneswar, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Patna, Rajasthan, Mandi, Indore.
They are known for selecting the best minds from India, and producing brilliant and Extraordinary Engineers out of them.


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

• First of all you should be a minimum 12th pass from a recognized school or state board of India.

• You should have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in your Higher Secondary classes 11th and 12th.

• If you want to take up engineering as your graduation stream, then you must have secured well above 60% aggregate in you 10+2 Board exams.

• IIT grants only 2 consecutive attempts to one applicant. One attempt you can take right after conclusion of your board exams, and the next one the following year.

PATTERN OF EXAM


The IIT exam is conducted in two parts. It consists of two papers on the same day. Paper 1 and Paper 2.

An candidate has to clear the cut off in both the papers to crack the exam.

Each paper of 3 hours duration. 1st one is from 9.00 to 12.00 pm. The 2nd one is from 2.00 to 5.00.


Every year the cut off marks differ as the students applying are different. So one cannot predict the cut off marks. However the following image shows the IIT JEE 2011 cut off marks.

Please refer it and get an idea about the cut offs marks range.

==>> ** So to join any stream of Engineering, you have to be a student of more than 60% aggregate in your 12th boards, plus you got to clear these cut off marks, and get a good rank in merit of JEE.
