Criteria to join Aeronautical Engineering after Diploma in Mechanical Engineering?

To join in aeronautical engineering course after completion of your diploma in Mechanical engineering course, you must have passed your 3 years diploma course with an aggregate of at least 45 % marks from a recognised board and you need to appear in Lateral Entry examinations like LEET, JELET, ECET, etc. Which is conducted by your respective state entrance examinations board. By qualifying the entrance examination, based upon your examination rank, you will be allotted a seat in a particular college and you can get admission in second year of four years B.Tech course.

No, diploma in Mechanical Engineering candidates are not eligible for B.Tech/B.E in Aeronautical Engineering.

Those candidates who have completed diploma in aeronautical engineering from a recognized university are eligible for B.Tech in Aeronautical Engineering.

Your age should be above 17 years.

Yes, of course you are eligible to apply for B.Tech or B.E in Aeronautical Engineering after Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Mechanical Engineering students are eligible to apply for B.Tech or B.E in Aeronautical Engineering.

Candidates eligible for admission to B.Tech or B.E in Aeronautical Engineering should possess the following qualifications,

- 10 + 2 in Science stream or equivalent qualification with 55% marks in PCM in aggregate OR Applicants with B.Sc (PCM) having minimum 55% marks in aggregate, OR Applicants with Diploma in Engineering with 55% aggregate marks from a university or equivalent may also eligible.

- Those candidates who have completed B.Sc or Diploma in Engineering can get admission through lateral entry. Every engineering Institutions/Universities may conduct their own entrance exam to get admission through lateral entry.

To get admission in Aeronautical engineering after the completion of your Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, you will probably have to appear for LEET examination and will have to score well to get yourself into any good College, as it is the entrance examination for admission of candidates from Diploma to Degree course.
