what is the minimum qualification for company secretary? also tell me how many years it will take to complete the course.

ICSI(Institute of Company Secretaries of India) offers part time Company Secretary courses. The career course of Company Secretary is not only prestigious but is financial prospects.

Eligibility for Company Secretary Courses:

1:You should clear 3 stages to qualify as Company Secretary and these are:

i)Foundation Course

ii)Intermediate Course

iii)Final Course

2:The minimum eligibility to gain entry in the Foundation Course is a pass in 10+2 examination or its equivalent in any stream. As you have B.Com as well as MBA degree,so there is no problem.

Course Duration : 8 months duration

3:Intermediate Course:

you have to pass in the Foundation Course Examination of the ICSI Graduation degree or a Master's degree/Pass in ICWAI, ICAI can allow you entry in the intermediate course.

Course Duration : 9 months duration

4:Final Course:

Once you pass the Intermediate Course you automatically become eligible for admission to the Final Course.

Foundation Course:

One passing the Final examination of ICSI you will need to undergo a practical training after which, you will be completely eligible for the Associate Membership of the Institute.

The Training is of Training Orientation Program(TOP) is for 5 days and is done before commencement of training.

This is followed by training for 15 months after the candidate has passed the Intermediate Examination or Final Examination.

The main institute is ICSI(Institute of Company Secretaries of India) at Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai and Delhi

how many percentage are required for cs in bcom

i had done my 10 2 in 1999 (87%) and graduation in 2002 (45%) and have also completed my PGDBM from symbiosis distance learning. I have been working in NBFC from last 5 years as a manager. Am i eligible for doing cs and if yes can i directly write the intermediate exams.

CS-COMPANY SECRETARY course is a correspondence course managed and conducted by ICSI(Institute of Company Secretary of India).

This course is divided in to three parts:-

FOUNDATION PROGRAM:- The candidate having completed 12th in any stream is eligible for this program. The duration of this course is 8 months.

EXECUTIVE PROGRAM:- The candidate having completed Foundation program or having Graduation in any discipline is eligible directly to this program. The duration of this program is of 9 months.

PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM:- The candidate having completed Executive program is eligible for this program. The duration of this program is 9 months.

Apart from this to be certified as a Company Secretary by ICSI the candidate has to undergone a 15 months compulsory practical training.

1) C S FOUNDATION COURSE

ELIGIBILITY

10+2 pass candidates (arts, science or commerce but not fine arts) are eligible and thei will have to submit a proof of passing

DURATION

8 months

2) C.S. INTERMEDIATE COURSE

ELIGIBILITY

- C.S. foundation pass

- degree holder (except in fine arts )

-Pass in Final examination of

- final exam pass in recognized Accountancy Institution in India or abroad

- minimum age of 17 years

DURATION

9 months

3) C.S. FINAL COURSE

After a period of 9 months after passing the intermediate course the student is eligible for final course

yes, you can apply in the company secretary courses.

you need not to apply for foundation level as you are graduate ,you can directly apply for executive level in company secretary course.

Most of the organization which are operate by boards, councils,associations,authorities,federations,or commissions
appoints a qualified company secretary.



MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY TO JOIN COMPANY SECRETARY COURSE

10+2 passed any stream (art, science, commerce) or equivalent qualification.

(No percentage is required in 12th class just passing is enough)

There is no limit on age.

THREE STAGE OF COMPANY SECRETARY

1,FOUNDATION

2,EXECUTIVE

3,PROFESSIONAL

Total Fee of Comapany Secretary is not more than 25000/-.

Admission is open though out the year.examination are held twice a year in june and december.

It is not a regular course and can be done from anywhere in INDIA.

Company Secretary(CS) course is conducted by the ICSI(Institute of Company Secretaries of India).

There are three types of selection course:

-->Foundation course,
-->Executive course,
-->Professional course.

Eligibility criteria for Foundation course:

Candidate should be complete 12th standard from a recognised state board of india.

There are 7 papers that you have to give in the ICSI Executive level

Cut Off Dates for Admission to Executive Course
28th February for December Exams in the same year
