To be a Collector in any district in India, You have to write UPSC exam or State level PSC.
UPSC will be conducted every year and they recruit for IAS, IPS, IFS etc. IAS is the top most designation in the executive department. State Level PSC will be conducted for the post of Deputy Collector which is next to the IAS. Recruitment is based on different states and it will be notified in their respective websites Eligibility: -Should be a Degree holder in any field. -Should be a Citizen of India, part of Nepal, part of Tibet, or a refugee before 1961. -Age Limit - Minimum 21 yrs and Maximum 32 yrs .( Relaxation in Age is based on Community). |

Re: One can apply for Collector exam after BA? What are the percentage and age requirements?
Your student will complete BA next year right. So, next year your student is eligible for Collector exam.
No percentage requirements are there. Completion of BA course is enough. Age requirements are 21-32 years for General category Relaxation in upper age for 3 years for OBC and for 5 years for SC and ST. Written exam name is Civil Services Exam and this is a UPSC exam. Again this exam is divided into Preliminary and main exams and conducted separately. |

To become a Collector, one should be qualified in civil services under IAS category.
This civil services exam is a UPSC Exam. It is organized only once in a year. Please find the below mentioned eligibility criteria for civil services exam. Students should have completed Graduation from a recognized university. Since your student is studying BA, after she completes BA, she can write civil services exam. No percentage of marks criteria is there, if she pass BA course that is enough. With regard to age, 21-32 years for General Relaxation upto 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC or ST |
