NDA stands for the National Defense Academy. Union Public Service Commission conducts entrance examination for this academy twice every year.

Recruitment to different wings of defense like Army, Navy and Airforce is done on the basis of result scored in both stages of written test and service selection board.

Eligibility Criteria for the NDA entrance exam:

>>A candidate can apply for the NDA entrance exam one he has done 10+2 from a recognized board. For Airforce and Navy, mathematics and physics is compulsory.

>>The age limit is 16.5-19.5 years.

>>Only unmarried male Indian candidates can apply for the exam.

So, female candidates have no opportunity in case of NDA exam. Unmarried female candidates can apply for Combined Defense Services after completing bachelor's degree.

Hence there is no possibility for female candidates to join National Defense Academy.

No, you are not eligible to appear for the NDA examination. The examination is conducted by the UPSC every year for the candidate who want to join the defense services after the 10+2.

The examination is conducted twice in a year and the eligibility to appear for the examination is :-
* Candidate must have passed the 10+2 from the recognised board.
* Candidate age must be between 16.5-19 years.
* Only male unmarried candidate are eligible.

So you cannot apply for the examination. But if you are interested in joining the defence services you can apply after your graduation for the CDS examination.

CDS stands for the Combined Defence Services and the examination is conducted by the UPSC in which both male and female candidate can apply.

The examination is conducted in two stages as the Written and the SSB. The candidate need to qualify in both the examination for the final selection.

For more information about any of the examination visit at the www.upsc.gov.in.

No, female candidates are not eligible for NDA exam.

NDA stands for National Defence Service exam. NDA Examination is conducted for 3 wings-Indian Air Force, Indian Navy and Indian Army.

The candidates who have completed the 12th standard from a recognized board or equivalent exam are eligible for NDA exam.

NDA exam doesn't require any percentage criteria for NDA exam.

Final year of 12th standard candidate are eligible for NDA exam.

Your age should be in between to 16.5 years to 19.5 years. There is no age relaxation for SC/ST candidates.

Hello dear..

The eligibility criteria for applying in the NDA is:

1)10+2 with physics and maths for air force and navy and with any discipline for army.
2)There is no percentage bar.
3)Age limit-16.5 to 19 years.
4)Only male candidate are applicable.

-> Sorry to say that being a girl candidate you are not allowed to sit in NDA exam. NDA exam is conducted by UPSC for only male candidates. So you can't able to write NDA exam any way.

-> but you can apply for CDS OTA exam which is also conducted by UPSC for the post in defence. you can't able to apply for other wings like INA, IAFA, IMA because these are only conducted for male candidates.

-> Eligibility for CDS OTA Exam:

1. Candidate must be unmarried(Both girls and boys).

2. Age limit not more than 25 years.

3. Graduation

i)For Indian Military Academy/Officers Training Academy: Degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
ii) For Indian Naval Academy: Bachelor of Engineering
iii) For Air Force Academy: Degree of a recognized University with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level or Bachelor of Engineering

4. Candidate must be physically and mentally fit.

-> CDS exam is conducted by UPSC twice a year. So there are 2 options for everyone.

-> So all the best

NDA stands for National Defense Academy and the examination is held by Union Public Service Commission two times every year for the recruitment in defense services and are commonly known as NDA I & NDA II.

The eligibility criteria for the same examination are here under :-

* You must be an unmarried Indian male candidate,

* Your age must be within 16.5 years to 19 years.

* You must hold a higher secondary school degree or a degree equivalent to it with any stream from a recognized institution.

* You must be physically and mentally fit as per the service norms.

Hence it is quite obvious from the above eligibility criteria that a female candidate is not eligible for the NDA examination.

But to have the career option in defense field females have the option of Combined Defense Services ( CDS ) examination held by UPSC twice every year.

For appearing in this examination, the general qualification required is a bachelor degree with any discipline from a recognized university with age lying within 19 years to 25 years. The stream of academics and upper age limit varies with varying wings of CDS.

For more information regarding these examinations you can visit the link www.upsc.gov.in.

According to the latest eligibility criteria prescribed by UPSC only unmarried male candidates are eligible to give NDA exam so female candidates cannot apply for NDA. But still, female candidates can apply for CDS(combined defence services), AFCAT(air force common admission test) entries and indian navy direct entries.
👍 all the best 😊
