Yes , The prefinal year student are eligible GATE exam.

There is no restriction for attempts for GATE exam.

The validity for GATE exam is two years.

No , the pre final year student are not elligible for gate exam..

As per the rule changed in 2010, the final year student , or passout can apper it..

And the validity of the rank is only one year..

So From now take your time and prepare for next year..

As the GATE score valid for two year,therefore you can appear for GATE exam from 3rd year onwards.

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all-India examination

conducted in eight zones across the country by the GATE Committee.Admission to post

graduate programmes at engineering and other professional colleges in the country such

as IISc Bangalore,IITs,NITs and NIPER are open to those who qualify through GATE.

Students who wish take admission in masters courses such as M.Tech,M.E. or M.Pharm

in India have to take GATE.The students who have completed their graduation in any

stream or evenly the students of prefinal year are also eligible for this test.So

>>GATE is held on every second sunday of february every year.

>>The result usually announced on 15th of march.

>>GATE score is valid for two years from GATE 2010 onwards.

>>IITs,NITs and other institutes and colleges require GATE score for admission to their M.E,M.Tech programs.

Eligibility for GATE Exam:

• **either Bachelor degree holders in Engineering/Technology/Architecture
• **either Master degree holders in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications
• **either Candidates in the second or higher year of the Four-year Integrated Master degree programme (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/Technology

only these candidates can apply ..

• for Gate as there is no age limit
• and no number of attempts defined in GATE exam..
• and also there is no minimum percentage criteria ,

yes. prefinal year students of engineering degree and M.SC students are eligible for GATE entrance exam

the GATE eligibility criteria is given below

>>graduation in engineering holders.

final year & prefinal year btech students are allowed to attain in the gate exam.

>>after doing M.Sc candidate are eligiable. prefinal year M.Sc students are also eligible to attain in the gate exam.

there have not any age limit to attain in the gate exam.

Eligibility for GATE exam:-

*The candidate must have complete the bachelor degree in the field of Engineering/technology/Architecture..
or,
The candidate must have complete the master degree in the field of M.Sc in any science subject/MBA/MCA etc..
The candidate also can appear in GATE exam during the pre-final year or final year of graduation or post graduation course..
NOTE:-
The validity of GATE score is 2 years..
There is no number of attempt restriction..
There is no age limit..

Ya you are eligible for gate exam. It is entrance exam. The educational qualification is b.tech/be/master degree in any stream. No age limit and no number of attempts. All the best

yes,pre-final year students are eligible for GATE..ur score shall stay valid for the end of the year in which u pass out ur final year..but right now if u attempt it..it is going to be extremely difficult for u but since there is no boundation to the number of attempts..u can give it to gain experience..

No,prefinal year candidates are not eligible to apply for this examination.

GATE i.e Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering.

GATE Examination is conducted through the constitution of eight zones.The zones are IIT Chennai,IIT Delhi,IIT Kanpur,IIT Roorkee,IIT Bombay,IIT Bangalore,IIT Kharagpur,IIT Guwahati.

Only final year candidates and pass out candidates are eligible to apply for this examination.So this year Pre-final candidates are not eligible to apply for this examination.

Lets see the eligibility criteria for this examination :-

You should have a graduate degree in engineering/technology/architecture from any recognized university or equivalent qualification.

You should have a graduate degree in engineering/technology/architecture(Post -B.Sc/Post Diploma from any recognized university or equivalent qualification.

Master degree in any branch of science/mathematics/statistics/computer application from any recognized university.

Those in the final year of graduate degree can also apply for this examination.

Pre-final students are not eligible for GATE 2012 entrance exam as the Gate score will valid only for one year.This change is made this year,before it was for two year.

Since the last Gate exam i.e. Gate 2011 it was possible that the pre-final year students were eligible to appear in the exam.
But now they have decided that the pre-final year students are not eligible to appear.
Although the rank will be valid for two years as it was.
But, pre-final year students are now not eligible to appear in this exam.

GATE is an examination conducted by the association of 7 IITs and the IISc, bangalore.

They conduct it for the selection of students for their post graduation level.

Based on your score, the institutes that you can get admitted into are:-

ELGIBILTY CRITERIA

1. B.Tech pass-out or 4th year.

2. Masters in any branch of science, Maths, Statistics, computer applications.

APPLYING:-

The gate exam is applied online, by which you can get a challan and a form.
you have to pay the required fees and send it along the printed form.


PREPARATION :-

You can either prepare for the exam yourself, or approach a coaching institute.

If you are preparing yourself, some of the good books that will help you are

I guess this would be sufficient. and once you start your preparation, hang onto it.
try your level best. at least 3 months preparation would be necessary.
