Hi iam a prefinal year student......am i eligible to attend afcat 2013?pls reply....

Yes, Prashanth, you can apply for the AFCAT exam,but you should have 60% aggregate on all the subjects put together with no back logs.(Pre final year can apply).

>> Your result must be declared at the time of testing and also you should be able to produce the provisional and degree certificate latest by June 15 2014.

AFCAT Exam Details:-

AFCAT stands for Air Force Common Admission Test. To join the air force this exam can be given by both men and women. By giving this exam you can enter the following wings of your choice:

• Flying Branch
• Technical Branch
• Ground Duty Branch

Educational Qualification:-

Flying Branch: You need to complete graduation with not less than 60% of marks from a recognized university. In addition to that you need to have physics and mathematics at 10+2 level.

Technical Branch: You need to get a B.Tech degree in Aeronautical Engineering. Here as well 60% of marks at UG level is necessary

Ground Duty Branch: There are three sub-categories of this branch. The eligibility criteria of each category is different from each other.

==> Administration & Logistics Branch: You need to be a graduate with not less than 60% of marks or a post graduate with not less than 50% of marks.

==> Accounts Branch: You need to complete B.Com and secure 60% of marks or you can complete M.Com with not less than 50% of marks.

==> Education Branch: You need to complete post graduation in any discipline with not less than 50% of marks.

Age Limit:-

Flying Branch: Your age should be between 19 and 23 years.

Technical Branch: Your age should be between 18 and 28 years.

Ground Duty Branch: Your age should be between 20 and 27 years of age.

Selection Procedure:-



Examination Pattern:-

The question paper is mainly objective type and the total time limit available is two hours. In this time period a total of 100 questions needs to be answered and each question will carry three marks. Negative marking is also there.

• General Awareness
• Verbal Ability in English
• Numerical Ability
• Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test

Yes, Off Course You are eligible for applying AFCAT Entrance Exam Being a candidate of pre-final year.....

According to the Qualification Require for AFCAT Examination state that a candidate must have completed their Graduation degree in any Science Field can apply for This....

Age should be not Exist 30 years for General category candidate.....

Air Force Common Admission Test. AFCAT is an Entrance test conducted for Selection of candidates in defence sector various branch of Indian Air force(Flying, ground, Technical).

Flying Branch:-

If you have completed BE/B.Tech degree then you are applicable for flying branch exam.Your 12th standard subject must be physics and Mathematics.

Your age should be in between 19 to 23 years old .

Technical Branch:-

If you have completed BE/B.Tech in Aeronautical engineering so you are applicable for Technical Branch exam.

Your age should be in between 18 to 28 years old .

Ground Duty Branches:-

I have a supplementary in a subject not year back, is i am eligible for afcat2013.

I am civil engineer student but i just study 5 subject out of 18. So i eligible or not. If not then why it is not specified in eligible section of AFCAT. this make's me really hopeless

flying branch :

the applicant should have a minimum 19 - 23 yrs.the candidate must have the B.E/B.Tech degree or graduate in any discipline with the minimum 60%.

Technical branch :

for this the candidate should have 18 - 28 yrs and should have done aeronautical engineering with minimum 60%marks.

Hi Prashanth,as your are in prefinal year,so you can apply for AFCAT Exam.But you will not be able to apply for the year 2013.Exam has get over and final results has also been declared for the year.So you will be able to apply for the coming year that is for year 2104.

There are three types of posts for which you can apply through AFCAT Exam and age required for each posts is as follows :

1. Ground Duty Officers -
   • For Graduates - 20 to 23 years.
   • For Post Graduates and LLB degree - 20 to 25 years.
   • For M.Ed/P.HD/CA/ICWA - 20 to 27 years.
2. Flying Officers - 19 to 23 years.
3. Technical Officers - 18 to 28 years.

Qualification required for Ground Duty Officers(any one) :-

• Candidates should have a bachelor degree or above from a recognized university in Administration and Logistics with a minimum of 50% marks.
• Candidates should have a bachelor degree/post graduation degree in Commerce with CA/ICWA professional degree and should have a minimum of 50% marks in bachelor/post gradation course.
• Candidates should have a post graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks.

Qualification required for Flying Officers(any one) :-

• Candidates should have a bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks in bachelor degree course.Candidates must have studied Mathematics and Physics at Inter level.
• Candidates having a B.E/B.Tech degree of 4 years from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks in their engineering course.

Qualifications required for Technical Officers :-

• Candidates should have a Bachelor engineering degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics and Communication from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks in their bachelor engineering degree course.

Physical Requirements for Flying Officers :


Candidates minimum height should be 162.5 cms and its weight should be appropriate as per their height and age.Their Normal eye vision should be 6/6.Candidates minimum sitting height should be 81.5 cms and acceptable upto 96 cms.Candidates minimum Leg length should be 99 cms and should exceed above 120 cms.


Selection of candidates through AFCTA Exam will be done in three stages :

1. Stage I - Intelligence test(Verbal Ability,Numerical Ability,Reasoning,general Knowledge and Military Aptitude Test).
2. Stage II - Psychological test,Group Test and Personal Interview.
3. Stage III(Flying officers) - Pilot Battery Aptitude Test.

AFCAT recruitment will be done for the below streams:
