Yes , prefinal year student are eligible for GATE exam.

There is no limitation for attempts gate exam.You can apply it any time in your life.

The gate score is valid for 2 years.

No, Pre-final year student are not eligible to appear for GATE exam. Earlier pre-final students were appeared for exam but from year 2012, GATE make some changes in eligibility.

Eligibility for GATE 2012
•-> Graduation degree in engineering.
•-> Only pass-out and final year student will be allowed.
•-> No age limit criteria.

No , As per the New rule a pre-final year student can't appear the Gate exam..

And the validity of the Rank is only One year also..

So you have 1 and 1.5 year, so prepare yourself thoroughly..

Eligibility for GATE Examination

The following categories of candidates are eligible to appear for GATE 2012:

* Bachelor's degree holders in Engineering/Technology/ Architecture (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final year of such programmes.
* Master's degree holders in any branch of Science/Mathematics/ Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final year of such programmes.
* Candidates in the second or higher year of the Four-year Integrated Master's degree programme (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/Technology.
* Candidates in the fourth or higher year of Five-year Integrated Master's degree programme or Dual Degree programme in Engineering/Technology.
* Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE by Institute of Engineers (India); AMICE by Institute of Civil Engineers (India)) as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. Those who have completed section A or equivalent of such professional courses are also eligible.

Yes, a pre-final year student can apply for GATE exam..
Eligibility for GATE exam:-

The candidate must have complete the bachelor degree in the field of Engineering/Technology/Architecture.
or,
The candidate must have complete the master degree in the field of M.Sc in any science subject/MBA/MCA etc..

There is no age limit to appear in GATE exam.
No number of attempt restriction..
The candidate can appear in GATE exam during the pre-final year or final year of the graduation or post graduation..
The validity of GATE score is 2years..
So, go for it..

Information Regarding GATE-2012 Examination.

NO, According to GATE-2012 notification the pre-final year candidates are not eligible for the GATE-2012 examination. Only final year and pass out candidates are eligible for GATE-2012 examination.

GATE exam is conducted by the management of IIT college for the admission in the M.Tech course in IIT college. Many other college also take admission in the M.Tech course through the GATE score cards.

So, if you a pre-final year candidates then you are not eligible for the GATE examination. You will be eligible in the final year of qualifying examination.

NOTE :- There are no age limit and percentage required in the qualifying examination. So, you can appear in the GATE examination at any age. Only pass the qualifying examination is enough to appear in the GATE exam.

Definitely you can appear for for GATE exam from 3rd year onwards.Gate exam score will valid for 2 years.

Previously pre-final year student can give GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in engineering) exam.GATE is conducted by IITS AND IISC.It is very important exam for engineers who want to do M.TECH with scholarship.In this year GATE 2012 is conducted by IIT DELHI. They give some new rule in GATE 2012.

1. Pre-final year student can not give GATE.
2. Candidate must apply through online then printed copy of filled from send to respective zonal IITs through post.

ZONE 2- IIT BOMBAY
ZONE 3- IIT DELHI
ZONE 4- IIT GUWAHATI
ZONE 5- IIT KANPUR
ZONE 6- IIT KHARAGPUR

ZONE 8- IIT ROORKEE


IMPOTENT DATES:-
ONLINE APPLICATION- 12 SEPT----17 OCT 2011

yes,Pre-Final year Engineering candidates are eligiable to appear for GATE Exam.

the GATE eligibility is given below

1.minimum graduation in engineering for AICTE approved college or university.

final year & prefinal year BE/B.Tech students are also allowed to attain in the gate exam.

the gate exam is conducted on the month of February.

and the expected from will be given in the month of October.

there have not any age limit to attain in the gate exam.
