I want to know what is the process to apply as a cadet in the merchant navy. I am very eager to hear your reply hope u reply soon.

Merchant navy offers the aspirants an opportunity to travel all over the world. There are many levels for the same. The basic eligibility is to clear the 12th standard. The aspirants must have a pass with 60% of marks. They should complete the program with PCM. The applicant’s age must be less than 20 years.

The students must complete their 12th with PCM are eligible to join the Merchant Navy as a Deck Cadets.

The applicant with a B.E or B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Technology Engineering can join the Merchant navy as an Engine Cadet, Fifth Engineer or as a Junior Engineer. You can join the merchant navy either after completion of 12th standard or after Marine engineering.


Eligibility:- Both unmarried male and female candidates ,age should not be
more than 20 years (on 1st September of the entry year): those
belonging to the SC/ST have this rule relaxed by about 5 yrs.

Academic qualification:- candidates having passed Chemistry, Mathematics
and Physics as elective subjects.

Selection criteria:- Selection is based on the Joint Entrance Examination
given by the IIT,a merit list is prepared after the written test and interview are completed.
