can you tell me the procedure about GATE exam after completion of engineering

The next GATE exam is expected to held in January 2013. The notifications should be out by September and the forms should be available for around a month. You can opt between online and offline application. Also you need to choose between online and offline mode of examination. You can expect the results by March.

You can apply in your final year also since final year engineering students are also eligible for it
THere are two ways of applying for Gate - online and offline

Online application procedure

You cant apply now since but as soon as the notification is out online application link will be available through IIT's site and IISc site

The application fee is Rs. 1000/- for general and obc candidates and Rs. 500/- for schedule caste, schedule tribe and physically handicapped candidate.

The payment can be made by net banking or by challan , There will be bank service charges of Rs. 30/- for net banking and rs. 25/- for Challan.

After filling of the application form there will be a pdf which you will have to print. There will be 5 pages including the bank challan, There will be 2 copies of the application, one will be for you and other you will have to submit.

You can use the bank challan for the cash payment.

You will have to write your name and application number on the back side of the passport size photo and paste it on the form. Then sign the form

You can send the application form through 10 inch x 12 inch size laminated envelope. There will also be address slip out of the 5 printed pages which you can paste on the envelope.

Don't forget to send all the attachments which includes marksheets, certificates etc.

Offline application procedure

The application forms are available in september-october which you can fill and then send as per the instructions in the information brochure.

When to apply for GATE Exam

GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering.GATE exam is conducted by IIT's every year to provide post graduation course in engineering and Architecture for qualified students in GATE exam.

To appear for GATE exam,you should have completed or in final year of B.Tech/B.E course with any branch from a recognized university.And there is no limit to appear for GATE exam.

GATE exam score will valid for 2 years.

GATE exam notification will release in the month of October and exam will held on January every year.And exam results will release in the month of March and Score card will dispatch to your address in the month of July.For more details,then visit official website.

I did my BIE degree (Bachelor in Industrial Engg) through Indian Institution of Industrial Engg, Mumbai. Can I apply for GATE?
