Any one who seeks to pursue Phd in Physics, must have completed the Post Graduate degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 55 to 60 percent aggregate marks. Admission is through Written Test and Interview. Candidate who have qualified or appeared for NET/SLET or any other such National level or State Level Entrance Test may get exempted from the Written Test and directly called in for Interview. Some of the Universities also seek for M.Phil degree in the relevant discipline along with Post Graduate degree for admission to their Phd programs. However, candidate having experience in the research field may get exemption from the M.Phil compulsion, subject to the norms of the Universities or Institutes.

For detail information one must refer to the University or Institute one is seeking to pursue the Phd program in with.
