I am pursuing M.sc Financial economics. So am I eligible for Indian Economics services. Actually, they have mentioned that only M.sc economics students, applied economics, are eligible. So is that any problem if I am applying for that position. Can I apply for this , being a financial economics student? Kindly let me know.

Indian Economic Services examination is conducted by UPSC every year to recruit the candidates for economic and statistical services.
The educational qualification required to apply for IES examination is post graduate degree in economics or applied economics or econometrics or business economics from University Grants Commission recognised institution or university. Age limit to apply for this exam is 21-32 years and the age relaxations are : * 3 years for OBC candidates * 5 years for SC, ST candidates and Ex-servicemen * 10 years for PWD candidates. And the selection procedure of IES exam is preliminary exam, main exam followed by personal interview and medical fitness test. For further information please visit www.upsc.gov.in. |
