Indian Air Force can be joined basically in three ways depending upon one's academic qualification and age.

NDA - NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY, by cracking the entrance exam conducted by UPSC twice every year.
The candidate must be an unmarried Indian male having either appear for the final 12th exam or pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognised Board within the age of 16,5 to 19 years with good physical fitness can apply for Indian Air Force of NDA.

CDS - COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE, the exam for which is conducted by UPSC two times a year.
In order to join IAF the candidate must be an unmarried Indian male having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 23 years with good Physical and Mental health.

AFCAT - AIR FORCE COMMON ADMISSION TEST conducted by Air Force for an entry in to Flying branch, Technical branch and Ground Duty branch.
The candidate must be an unmarried Indian male having completed Graduation in any stream with 60% marks from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 23 for Flying branch, 18 to 28 years for Technical branch and 20 to 23 years for Ground Duty branch.

If you want to get jobs in Indian Air-Force,Then you will have to appear for AFCAT(Air-Force Common Admission Test).

For this exam,the eligibility you will have to fulfilled are :-

Educational qualification :-
-->>Your subject stream in 10+2 should be science with Physics and Mathematics.
-->>You should be Graduation passed out in any stream from recognized university.

Age required :-
-->>Your minimum age should be 19 years.
-->>Your age should not be above 24 years.

Marks :-
-->>Your minimum marks in 10+2 should be 60%.
-->>Your minimum marks in Graduation should be 50%.

You can join Indian Air Force through different ways and educational qualification is different for different posts.

For Officers Post in Indian Air Force:

NDA Examination: You should be 10+2 passed with Physics, Chemistry and Maths if you want to join Indian Air Force through this exam. Age should be between 16.5 to 19 years and you must be an Indian unmarried Male of India.

CDS Examination:For this you should have Graduation in Engineering or Maths or Physics then only you can apply for Air Force Academy. The age required in between 19 to 23 years for Air Force Academy.

AFCAT :This Exam is conducted for Flying Branch, Technical branch and Ground Duty Branch. You must have Graduation in Engineering or Physics or Maths for Technical and Flying Branch. For Ground Duty Any discipline Graduate are eligible to apply.

For Non Officers Post:

-Group Y Trade for 10+2 pass candidates.

-Group X Trades for Diploma Engineering and Graduates and Post Graduates students.

The selection will be based on the performance in the written examination and medical Examination.

The Indian Air Force is the most reputable wing of Indian Defense.

If you want to join the Indian Air Force at your earliest then you can do this through cracking the NDA Examination.

The Union Public Service Commission conducts two examinations every year for those candidates who want to join Indian Defense.

These Two Examinations are :

* National Defense Academy Examination

* Combined Defense Services Examination.

The NDA Exam is conducted twice every year as NDA-I & NDA-II every year in April and August.

The Requisites for NDA Exam [For Air Force] are :

If you are Interested to Join Indian airforce after passing than you need to appear in the National defence Academy exams.

The NDA exams are conducted each year by UPSC
This exam is held two times in a year

You need to have below educational and age qualifications to apply to NDA exams.
Army Wing-12th Pass in any stream
Navy & Airforce Wing- 12th Pass with Subject Physics and Maths

AGE-
Minimum age 16.5 years
Maximum age- 19 years

Only Unmarried Male candidates can apply
